Head Librarian Guillaume

Location: The Old Archives, (at the entrance)
Description: Guillaume is the Head Librarian of the Catacombs. You ask for his guidance while searching for a book for Archbishop Dryden. He is killed a few seconds later.
The Old Archives[edit]
When you meet him, he will be cowering in fear and will reply:
- Guillaume: Who are you? Are you responsible for this foulness?
- Dungeon Master: (He holds up a book menacingly, as if to strike you.)
- Guillaume: I may be an old man, but by the Flame you shall not claim this place without a fight!
- You: Calm down, sir. Tell me what is happening.
- Guillaume: These spiders began to crawl out of the woodwork! And skeletons from the crypts below came up right behind them.
- Guillaume: Yet that was not the worst. For I swear on my oaths, I saw the shadows move!
- Guillaume: They... they swarmed Tully! Lost to the darkness, my poor student. How could this haplen here in this sacred place?
- You: Dryden suspects this has something to do with the Duality.
- Guillaume: The Duality! These are dark days indeed if this corruption stems from that work!
- Guillaume: The existence of such a proscribed text was supposed to be kept absolutely secret. The Archbishop must trust you completely.
- You: I've been ordered to bring the book with all haste.
After he opens the door:
- Guillaume: Very well. I will unlock the way. But you must find the book on your own, so heed my words.
- Guillaume: So feared was the Duality that it was divided into three parts.
- Guillaume: And hidden in secret compartments scattered throughout the library.
- Guillaume: Seek these compartments when you see our Church's emblem engraved above, on the arches.
- Guillaume: Now go. And may the Fle be with you!
- Guillaume: Merciful Tira! The shadows come again! Help me—aiiigh!
Guillaume is then cut down by a shadow.
