How to sign comments[edit]
On talk pages, it is proper etiquette to sign and date your messages. To do this, add four tildes to the end of your message. When you save the page, these will be converted to your signature plus the current date and time.
On this wiki, this can be more easily done by using the editbox tool .

The default "sig" is your username (or IP address for anon users), but you can customize it in your preferences menu.
Signing your posts prevents readers from getting your messages confused with those by other users; with the date/time stamp included, other users can follow the flow of the conversation.
- Fear not, I've explained this already. (Also, I note in passing that you yourself forgot to sign.) ⇒ PurpleSerpent (Contribs • Message • Email) 04:05, September 23, 2021 (EDT)
- Oh, I see. Copy-and-paste from a help page. That makes more sense. ⇒ PurpleSerpent (Contribs • Message • Email) 04:08, September 23, 2021 (EDT)
- Yeah,
{{SUBST:Please sign}}
is what I used that pulls the appropriate information from Help:How to sign comments. 👟 ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message • Email) 👟 08:25, September 23, 2021 (EDT)
