Dexterity bonus
The dexterity bonus is a bonus to AC equal to your dexterity modifier. It may be capped by the armor or tower shield your character is wearing, as well by encumbrance (since these impose a maximum dexterity bonus).
Other common bonuses to your armor class are armor bonus, shield bonus, deflection bonus, natural armor bonus, and miscellaneous bonus.
