Tips and Misc

  • Ludendorf's Zoological Gardens were an early casualty of the eternal winter that gripped the city, as a brutal blizzard forced the keepers to close the location to the public. You've arrived here to look into reports of mysterious noises from deep within the gardens.
  • Two problems immediately become clear when you enter the gardens: first, Doctor Mordenheim's revolutionary Pneumatic Feeding Device system has failed, and the remaining animals are rapidly freezing to death. Second, and perhaps more pressingly, the gardens have been invaded by hungry Mongrelfolk. Considering Doctor Mordenheim's patronage of the gardens and general track record with scientific responsibility, it's fairly probable she's somehow involved with this problem too.
  • To get past the snowdrift blocking the entrance to the rest of the zoo, you'll need to head South and pick up a shovel. Once through the first building, head North to find one of the two components missing from the feeding machine. (A note here confirms Mordenheim is indeed responsible for the Mongrelfolk and other monsters in the zoo - a later note will indicate they are created from a mass of human and animal corpses killed by a roof collapse in the initial blizzard.)
    • Also in this area is a large heated enclosure containing Lacheln the crocodile. Although the creature has survived the blizzard, it has not been fed in some time, and will attack anyone foolhardy enough to enter its pool.
  • The other missing component is South of the large courtyard, in the lion enclosure. Once you've found both, head Northeast to the feeding machine to fit the components.
  • It appears your progress through the zoo has not gone unnoticed - a huge escaped experiment from Viktra Mordenheim's lab drops from the ventilation system to attack! (What exactly this is isn't clear yet - the monster hasn't been added yet, as of the most recent Lamannia preview.)
  • With Mordenheim's experiments put to rest and the feeding system back in activation, it is finally safe for keepers to return to the zoo and begin the rebuilding process. You can only hope Doctor Mordenheim won't be allowed any more access to the exhibits.
  • There are a total of seven notes:
    • One just outside the entrance
    • One by the shovel
    • One North of the first courtyard
    • One under the first snowdrift
    • One Northwest of the second courtyard
    • One at the collapse site East of the second courtyard
    • One by the feeding machine
