Certain rare spells, such as Silence Creature, may temporarily disable spells that require verbal components., SomaticIcon tooltip.pngSomatic: A somatic component is a measured and precise movement of the hand. You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot move causing arcane spell failure resulting in a ruined spell. Spells without a somatic component may be used with disregard to Arcane Spell Failure chance. Note - that characters make the same arm gestures for most spells in DDO, so you can't tell which spells require this component by watching your character's animations.

Target: Foe, Directional, Breakable

Description

Surround target adversary with rainbows, dealing 1d6+10 Chaos Damage per caster level (Maximum damage 10d6+100)*. They take a random (but powerful) effect, and every 2 seconds, they take another random effect. A successful Will save reduces the damage by half and negates the additional effects.

Notes

  • Currently (Update 68), Wildstrike counts as a mind-effecting spell, making it fail against monsters that are immune to mind-effecting spells such as the maddened Minotaurs in Gianthold and champions of certain types.
  • The Spellbook version states the damage as 1d6+6 up to 10d6+60, and the SLA version states the damage as 1d6+10 up to 10d6+60. Both are incorrect. The actual damage values used are the ones listed in the patch notes and above (1d6+10/CL up to a max of 10d6+100).
