Here are the release notes for Update 75.5, released on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025.

News and Notes[edit]

  • This game update includes a change to the way some landscapes are loaded to make their handling more efficient.
    • As a result of the changes, objects created and left unattended fully out of sight in some landscape regions now expire after approximately 2 minutes, such as Bigby's Guiding Hands, Dimension Door entrances, or Hirelings left guarding an area by themselves. In the case of Hirelings, the Hireling will disappear from the party but can be re-summoned if you still have their contract available.1 • 2 • 3
  • An issue has been corrected that prevented characters from reaching Zardanarith, the green dragon in the Isle of Dread wilderness area.

Wiki Clarifications[edit]

In certain wilderness regions the impact will be that if you used to park a hireling on the other side of the map for free slayers that hireling will now despawn about two minutes after losing line of sight.
In theory Bigby's Hands are also impacted because they are placed in the space, but usage of Bigby's Hands in wilderness areas isn't particularly frequent to begin with, so the impact should be fairly minimal.

No, this change only impacts particular landblocks in wilderness areas, so if you aren't in a wilderness area with explorers and rares and such it will no be impacted by this adjustment.

@Cordovan - can you confirm that "In the case of Hirelings, the Hireling will disappear from the party but can be re-summoned if you still have their contract available."
means people have to run back to the entrance to resummon if they still have the contract as well all expect is the case? Thanks.

Nothing code-wise has been changed for hirelings, so their summoning process remains the same as always.
