Overview

Tips and Misc
- The mad Wizard Darstil Vurusk fancies himself a Grand Arcanist, and has taken up residence in a fortified tower where he conducts strange and disturbing research. His allegiance to the Night Brigade has placed him on your hit list.
- After fending off a few groups of Night Brigade thugs as you ascend to the door of his tower, you discover Darstil has barricaded himself inside his private library. Using Martildae's amulet allows you to transform into a rat and slip through a gap in the door – but Darstil spots you making your entrance, and teleports you into the labyrinth under his tower as a test subject!
- To escape the maze, you must look for buttons on the floor to open metal gates and allow you to reach tunnels that you can pass through in Rat form. First, run around the red loop until you reach the West wall, then head through the rat hole and fight your way through the Worgs and Nothics.
- In this area, you'll encounter a Scared Test Subject, a Cranium Rat trapped in the labyrinth. This will trigger an optional to find all six Cranium Rats and speak with them to free them – the locations are detailed below.
- Now head to the eastern edge of this tunnel and head to the South wall. A collapsing floor will drop you into another tunnel which connects to the maze's blue loop – this will lead to a third tunnel, also on the West wall.
- Check on the easily missed note here.
- This tunnel lead up and around into a room filled with cells, which contains an orange-named Razor Cat. The cat must be killed to unlock the nearby cells. Afterwards, head to the end of the tunnel to enter the yellow loop of the maze.
- At the end of this loop, you'll find a Teleportation Circle which allows you to enter Darstil's private library. With no further tricks to pull, the Grand Arcanist is forced to face you in combat – though even as you kill him he's mostly just annoyed that you've ruined his experiments.
- Darstil will teleport to his safe room at the top of the tower and summon Mephits at three points during the fight. You must kill the mephits in order to progress. If the quest is not progressing, it's likely one of the mephits is stuck near his safe room.
- The optional to save the other inhabitants requires you to find six Scared Test Subjects:
- One just past the door in the red loop
- One behind a secret door at the end of that same tunnel
- One behind some crates under the collapsing floor
- One behind the shrine in the third tunnel
- One in the prison area with the Angry Subject
- One at the end of the third tunnel
- There are seven notes:
- One on a table right at the start
- One in the cell in the first tunnel
- At the start of the blue loop
- At the start of the second tunnel
- In the cell in the second tunnel
- At the end of the second tunnel
- In Darstil's sanctum
