"Enhancements" or "Enchantments"?[edit]

What is the proper name for this field? Corebreach 00:58, November 21, 2009 (EST) P.S. This is going to apply to all item templates.

Enchantement - that is the one Turbine uses, at least. Besides, enhancement would only get confusing. --Borror0 02:17, November 21, 2009 (EST)
Oh ok, i was just following the naming convention of the old template... changing it now thnx guys... si i guess i need to change armors, weapons to Enchantments - Sef326 02:24, November 21, 2009 (EST)

Pictures[edit]

Does the images field really serve any purpose? It's not like any of the accessories showed up on the characters. --Borror0 03:25, February 19, 2010 (EST)

images, especially for clothing & jewelry items, are purely aesthetics for the wiki. save for a few novel items that have unique icons & images (Voice of the master, mantle of the worldshaper, etc), most have the same images ingame. if you think that it takes too much resources or totally unnecessary, i can easily remove it from the template. - Sef326 06:29, February 19, 2010 (EST)
No, it's fine. I was just wondering if it was there because you forgot to remove it or if you had the intention to use it for something. --Borror0 07:43, February 19, 2010 (EST)

Deprecated templates[edit]

I explained this pretty clearly before, and you yourself should understand given some of your recent edits, but here it is again:

Look at your OWN edit of this:

You linked a previous revision, as the item was non-retroactively changed. Cool, great, useful edit. With so many items being non-retroactive changed, thats a great idea to keep track of the old ones for players who may still have them, or who are simply interested in the games history.

Now think about what you did today.

What if you did the same in a year to the Named Weapon template because we started to use a new template:. Your edit on Greater Dragonshard Focus: Sentinel would be broken.

So yes.. Tracking the games history, especially considering how often items are non-retroactive changes is VERY important. And destroying templates servers NO purpose. Thus the undo.

Think VERY carefully about deletion and blakning of pages, they can have major consequences on the wiki if you don't.

Valid point, however, there is a better solution.. I will deal with it.. give me five minutes and see what it becomes.. Wink ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 14:11, April 23, 2012 (EDT)

I don't see how. Previous revision are set in stone, so any changes to the templates which used them will cause issues.

Plus, there is better things to spend your time on. EG: Consider my post and reply to my talk here: Talk:Naming policy
