Template talk:Bane

What I did here.[edit]

Created a template for the loot lists. It creates a link to the proper bane page and when you mouseover the link it will give you a quick detail of what the effect does so that if someone is unfamiliar with a particular effect they don't have to leave the list if they don't want to. Assuming no one has any problems with it, I will work with this some more once I'm done updating the loot lists to include all loot. Just wanted to test it out for now. Really nice! Borror0 21:58, July 28, 2007 (EDT)

Template test[edit]

{{Bane|Elf|greater}} -> Greater Elf BaneIcon tooltip.pngGreater Elf Bane: A bane weapon excels at attacking one type or subtype of creature. Against Elves, this weapon's effective enhancement bonus is +4 better than its normal enhancement bonus. It deals an extra 3 to 18 points of damage against the foe.

{{Bane|Dragon|lesser}} -> Lesser Dragon BaneIcon tooltip.pngLesser Dragon Bane: A bane weapon excels at attacking one type or subtype of creature. Against Dragons, this weapon's effective enhancement bonus is +1 better than its normal enhancement bonus. It deals an extra 1 to 6 points of damage against the foe.

"if equals"[edit]

What is this if equals? Never seen it used before, got me curious on it ;) I'd just like you to explain me the lat choice, got me curious about it. :) Borror0 04:03, January 18, 2008 (EST)

If you look for the old version, it used #Switch to select output from one value. #IfEq compares two values (strings) with each other, and if there is a match, it returns the first choice, if there is not, it returns the last one.

If there is only one variable, its more efficient to use the if(eq) function than switch as switch eats more server resources. Its not a big thing but when things grow big, everything counts. You can read more about functions at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:ParserFunctions BlackSmith 05:35, January 18, 2008 (EST)
