Notes: There is one class trainer of every class residing in Korthos Village. Tarthan can also bestow quests in the Korthos tutorial quest series.
Obdurate means "stubbornly refusing to change one's opinion or course of action." If you are a Druid or Artificer, Tarthan will not bestow any of the Korthos tutorial quests.

Korthos Village

If you have not talked to your Class Trainer, you are a Druid or Artificer, or if there is no quest available in the Korthos tutorial quest series:

• Tarthan the Obdurate: Nothing is impossible to those who have strengthened their Pact. Come, let us learn the ways of the Warlock together.
  • You: Spend action points on enhancements.
    • Tarthan the Obdurate: (if you have no Warlock levels) You ask a warlock to train you when you have no knowledge of our ways? Find one of your own class to train you in your benefits, for I cannot.

  • You: Advance to the next level as a warlock.

        • Tarthan the Obdurate: Warlocks can wear Light Armor and still cast spells normally, so there's no need to wear Robes unless you want to. If you want to be sturdier in combat, consider the Enlightened Spirit enhancement tree, which lets you use Medium Armor and grants many defensive benefits.

        • Tarthan the Obdurate: Warlocks can use any simple weapons. However, in most cases, a Warlock will rely on using Eldritch Blast instead of traditional weapons. In that case, look for a Scepter or Staff that increases Spell Power, which will increase the damage of your Eldritch Blasts.

        • Tarthan the Obdurate: While a Warlock's primary attack, Eldritch Blast, does not require material components, they do require spell components to cast some spells. Pinches of Fine Sand are used as the spell component for certain early Warlock spells. Components are consumed when you cast spells that require them, so don't forget to stock up on spell components at a shop before heading out on an adventure.

If you have talked to your class trainer, are not a Druid or Artificer, and have a quest available in the Korthos tutorial quest series:

Before asking Brother Malden to bind your spirit:

  • Tarthan the Obdurate: (If you fall in battle, you return to the last place you bound your spirit at.
  • Tarthan the Obdurate: Characters who can bind your spirit have the "Spirit Binder" title beneath their names. Every tavern has a Spirit Binder inside.
  • Tarthan the Obdurate: Find the Spirit Binder inside the Wavecrest Tavern and ask him to bind you.)
    • You: I can't find the Spirit Binder -- point him out for me. (bestows Tutorial: How to Bind your character quest)
      • Tarthan the Obdurate: (If you are inside the Wavecrest Tavern, the Spirit Binder now has a glowing yellow check-mark over his head.
      • Tarthan the Obdurate: If you are outside in Korthos Village, you must first enter the Wavecrest Tavern. It is marked by a Green Mug icon on your Map. (Press M to open.)
      • Tarthan the Obdurate: Once you find the Spirit Binder, Left-Click on him to start a dialogue, and ask him to bind your spirit.)

After asking Brother Malden to bind your spirit but before completing Heyton's Rest:

  • Tarthan the Obdurate: (People who are looking for your help show up as a Yellow Chalice on your map. You can press the M key to open your map and look for it.
  • Tarthan the Obdurate: Once you're close to the person who needs help, you'll be able to see a Glowing Chalice Icon hovering over his or her head.
  • Tarthan the Obdurate: You can interact with these Questgivers to obtain a new quest.)
    • You: I can't find a Questgiver -- point one out for me. (bestows Tutorial: How to find a Quest quest)
      • Tarthan the Obdurate: (One of the Questgiver icons on your Map is now flashing. You can press the M key to open your map and look for it.
      • Tarthan the Obdurate: Make sure you're not inside the Wavecrest Tavern, and you can simply walk towards the Questgiver to reach it.

  • Tarthan the Obdurate: Find the General Vendor in Korthos Village and access his shop.)
    • You: I can't find the Vendor -- point him out for me. (bestows Tutorial: How to buy & sell items in your inventory quest)
      • Tarthan the Obdurate: (The Vendor's golden circular icon is now blinking on your map (open with the M key on your keyboard.)
      • Tarthan the Obdurate: Normally, Vendors simply show what type of store they have beneath the Vendor's name, but the Korthos Village General Vendor now has a glowing yellow check-mark added over his head, so that you can identify him more easily.
      • Tarthan the Obdurate: Once you find the General Vendor, Left-Click on him to start a dialogue and access his shop.)

      • Tarthan the Obdurate: (In order to help you find the Wavecrest Tavern's icon, we've made it blink on your map (press the M key on your keyboard to open.)
      • Tarthan the Obdurate: Look for the blinking Green Mug icon on your map. Walk to the Wavecrest Tavern and Left-click on its door to go in.
      • Tarthan the Obdurate: Once inside, look for Sigmund Bauerson standing at the bar. Left-click on him to interact, and obtain the new quest.)
