Talk:Why are there still .bmp files on the DDO Wiki?
Since BMP images (.bmp) are considered an unsuitable image format for use on the web. Is there any reason why there seems to be around 35 of those images still found on DDO Wiki?
The "no pages that link to this file" is the case with nearly all those (.bmp) images. The majority of the listed BMP files I could find already have superior PNG versions with the same name except: Extended_Haste.bmp
About the only (.bmp) files, I could find that were used anywhere: Champion, Hero.bmp Power_Drain.bmp on a single minor "Sandbox" page, plus: Extended_Haste.bmp, which also appeared on a 'talk' page. It would take only a few seconds to convert Extended_Haste.bmp to PNG.

- I did a whole bunch of it back in 2015 (when I asked Xevo (Contribs • Message • Email) to stop allowing *.bmp files to be uploaded). Most of those files are still in the system, and Xevo himself would have to manually get rid of them. Feel free to replace any of them with a better quality png or jpg and remove usage to the bmp. Also feel free to "delete" (tag it with
{{Delete}}or{{InstantDelete}}) any bmp that isn't being used to hide it from the system. ⇒ DDOstream (Contribs • Message • Email) 09:17, October 23, 2019 (EDT)
All the (.bmp) files I could find now have suitable PNG versions.

I could manage to add the {{Delete}} to most of the (.bmp) but it doesn't seem all that intuitive to me how I can actually get rid of ([edit] with {{Delete}}) the remaining visible (.bmp) files? As they mostly seem to be in a 'Shared Repository' or something other? I'm not very knowledgeable with specific Wiki functions, etc.
Of the sixteen (.bmp) files that are still visible in the results; only four are still linked to: "User:Aldyron/Sandbox/Pages_in_icon_categories" the rest of those (.bmp) link to nothing whatsoever.
