Talk:Replacement text for mid-page jumps?
I recently edited the mailbox page with some additional detail, but when I wanted to link to the Friends page I found that it does not have its own page but that I could link to the mid-page jump (sorry if that is awkward terminology). The problem is that "Social_panel#Friends_Tab" looks awkward, and I'd prefer to replace that text with the word "Friends" while maintaining the link. Can that be done, and if so please educate me on how to do this. Thanks!
Also, how do I get rid of the {{{3}}} at the top of any new village pump topic I start? The only instruction is to replace the stock text with my own, which I do. It also does not warn that if you sign the post using the tildes it chokes on it completelty. Niminae (Contribs • Message • Email) 22:01, November 4, 2015 (EST)
- You stick a pipe and then the replacement text: [[Social_panel#Friends_Tab|replacement text]]
gives: replacement text. No idea on the other... --Thalone 22:08, November 4, 2015 (EST)
- Thalone is correct, that is called a piped link wikipedia page on it. The second part of your question, I actually fixed for you before reading... Simple hard define the parameters 1= 2= and 3=. That T:Post just needs to go away... I'll work on that next Tuesday on DDOwiki Talk with T13 (ShoeMaker). :) ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message • Email) 23:26, November 4, 2015 (EST)
- Thanks! I see that JJMC89 has already prettied up the mailbox page, but I'm now well armed for the next time. Niminae (Contribs • Message • Email) 01:47, November 5, 2015 (EST)
