Regarding the shaft after the shrine on the second level: I tried this yesterday on my Monk. In fire stance, I had a jump of 20, and was unable to climb back up. Switching to wind stance with the Jidz-Tet'ka bracers gave me a jump of 29, and I was just able to climb back up. I can therefore confirm that it is possible to climb back up the shaft, the minimum jump required lying somewhere between 20 and 29.
If no one minds, I'll leave it to some one else to add this to the wiki page, as I am not at all familiar with editing wiki's, and do not wish to break it :)

My cleric (level 6) has an impressive Jump of 3. It is always possible to reach the shrine as long as you have a feather falling item. What you need to do is: start climbing the ladder the usual way. Then turn your view outwards so you should be facing the opposite wall. Then to keep climbing up press "S" or the down arrow. When you reach the top of the ladder, your character will do a small hop to get off the ladder. When he does that, start pressing "W" or up arrow to start falling towards the platform. He will hang from the edge of the first platform (bottom-up), but he will land easily on the second platform.
It's annoying to tell people I can take them to the shrine when they're lying dead in poison and see them release anyways. (And it would be more annoying if I was dead and people didn't know how to reach the shrine ;) )
