Reaper XP[edit]

  • Some tests (need more): Screen_Shot00004.jpg

For Tower of Frost (heroic) it seems 40+48*skull count, for Mask of Deception (epic) - 50+54*skull count. Reaper XP look like linear function: a + b * skull_count. (maybe 0.8 < a/b < 1) UL (ContribsMessage)

Severlin's description[edit]

(note: does not match in-game reality) - Cru121, any chance you could be more specific? Is Severlin's note not worth reading at all, or have there just been a few changes since then? Hoopy Froodle (ContribsMessage) 08:28, May 3, 2017 (EDT)

  • Hmm, I should frequent this talk page more often :) Obviously, some things are now obsolete because of various changes over the years, but the post was very wrong even when posted. The post has also been edited. To stroke my ego... I have written a more correct description of how reaper XP was awarded AT THAT TIME in this post. -- Cru121 (ContribsMessage) 02:15, July 31, 2020 (EDT)

Level Restrictions to Open Reaper Difficulty[edit]

Reading over the article, I don't see the level restrictions to opening reaper difficulty. Is it there, and I somehow don't see it? Is it up to character level +4 for heroic and up to character level +6 for epic, or do I have that backwards? -- Dulcimerist (ContribsMessage) 23:09, July 30, 2020 (EDT)

Doom Reapers[edit]

Has anyone actually seen a Doom Reaper in an R6 instance? The page says they appear in R6 and above. They definitely appear in R7, but I run R6 all the time and have never seen one there. --174.249.204.5 (Message • Block • Check) 19:50, August 31, 2022 (EDT)

  • I believe I have, but they are supremely rare compared to other reapers. On R7, on the other hand, they show up fairly frequently. PurpleSerpent (ContribsMessage) 19:54, August 31, 2022 (EDT)

Question Reaper True Seeing[edit]

Are we certain that reapers completely bypass Blur and Displacement? I'm pretty sure I've been getting Blurry text floaties when in combat with them instead of taking damage. Kiljaedenas (ContribsMessage) 14:50, March 2, 2023 (EST)

  • A Reaper does not innately gain the ability to bypass Concealment defences. Depending on the Reaper Skull difficulty entered, it is entirely possible for a player to find their Concealment defences (Blur, Displacement, or other kinds) to still be functioning, although at a reduced rate to what you would expect (10% occurance instead of 20% for example). Typically, by Reaper Skull 3, the combined bonus for enemies on their attack roll to bypass Concealment defences is given a bonus of 5 (base Reaper difficulty) + 15 (3 Skull x 5) for a total of 20. This results in their roll vs Concealment to always roll above 20 (minimum of 1 + 20 bonus) and thus always get to perform a normal attack against the player that employs something like Blur for 20% Concealment defence. So in Reaper 3 or above, all Reapers, by virtue of the Reaper difficulty and scaling (Skulls) effectively bypass Blur entirely. Displacement however, is valued at 50, and there is a cap of the bonus given to enemies in Reaper difficulty of +30, this is around Reaper Skull 5 difficulty. (5 base + ( 5 Skull x 5 )) for 30 bonus. This leaves players employing Displacement for 50% Concealment bonus to have it remain functional at 20% effectiveness still. And thus you will always see it remain functional against a Reaper, although at a much reduced rate (depending on difficulty entered).
  • That's what I suspected, a previous iteration of the page had a line in their traits saying they completely bypass it from the word go, which is what I was questioning. Kiljaedenas (ContribsMessage) 17:13, March 5, 2023 (EST)

Suspect that Reapers do not have full or true Tremor Sense[edit]

Testing recent Spiders with Tremor Sense ability reveals they continue to bypass all Concealment defences without the True Seeing ability itself. This suggests that if Reapers had Tremor Sense, they should automatically breach all Concealment defences on a target, however testing reveals they currently do not, and thus relies on Reaper Difficulty buffs for enemies to help bypass Concealment; This should confirm that Reapers do not have True Seeing. However, it also suggests that Reapers do not have the complete set of Tremor Sense abilities, or set of abilities associated with Tremor Sense, else they would automatically bypass the Concealment protections on a target they attack. There may be a need to make a distinction on this ability.
