Talk:Masterminds of Sharn

Any reason these are numbered 1.1-1.5/2.1-2.4? No other quests are numbered like that. Not that I think its a bad change, but if we're using it here, we should do the same across all historic quests, and that's a LOT of work/mind change Christopher G Lewis (ContribsMessage) 16:11, May 27, 2019 (EDT)

  • The reason I would suspect the decimal numbering was done like that; is because there are two separate Parts [1] and [2], to the Masterminds of Sharn "Story Quests". Though there are probably more elegant solutions to describing those nine quests. Dywypi (ContribsMessage) 16:42, May 27, 2019 (EDT)
    • Yes, that's why I added numbers. If someone has a better idea how to mark the order / availability of quests, I'm open to suggestions. Seljuck (ContribsMessage) 16:50, May 27, 2019 (EDT)
      • Not saying it's not wrong or even better, it's just that there are a ton of other quest story arcs that are multi part (water works, Cult of Six, Necro, Tangleroot, Threnal) that are *not* numbered this way. I think it adds confusion just due to it being different. We can certainly use this format, but we should also change the other story arc's to match. This is somewhat hard because there's not always a good split. For example is CO6 two parts (upper/lower) or 5 (dungeon based)? Threnal is already West/East/South so would changing these to numbers be more confusing? Christopher G Lewis (ContribsMessage) 12:19, May 28, 2019 (EDT)
        • If you check articles about these adventure packs, you'll see that they are different right now. When I find free time, I might convert rest of tables to new format. If You have any idea how to mark quest order more elegant way, I'm open to suggestion. To be honest that was fast solution. Seljuck (ContribsMessage) 13:58, May 28, 2019 (EDT)
  • We might want to explore creating a better Quest Template Template:QTL that includes story arc numbering - It could number automatically or at least have better format (ie number in its own column, sortable). We have a ton of places that an Arc is described - the U## update pages, the Arc itself, the general Arc list, wilderness areas etc. Having this done via a template would be a better overall solution. • I tried to fix this. It isn't perfect, but it removes the numbers and should be clear that there are different story arcs. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge than me can iron out a few of the kinks. 73.209.56.78 (Message • Block • Check) 09:58, June 3, 2019 (EDT)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────I'd suggest breaking each section up as the IP editor above me has done and not try to do any numbering. It's not used anywhere else with good reason, most chains do not require you to complete the quests in a certain order (any more). The expansions typically do require you to do the chains in a certain order but each chain should be in it's own table anyway (as it is now). DDOstream (ContribsMessage) 10:10, June 5, 2019 (EDT)

Sharn Crafting[edit]

I think there should be at least a mention to Sharn Crafting. Currently, there is not even a hint that there was a new kind of crafting introduced to that. Alrik (ContribsMessage) 06:46, April 13, 2020 (EDT)

  • Nowhere is there said *where* to craft Sharn items; if I look through the Wiki, the only crafting place is called a "Cannith Reforging Station", and the only one listed in the Wiki is the one within House Cannith. So, reading through the Wiki it looks/seems to me as if I would have to return to House Cannith and there into that raid area in which that station is located each time I want to craft with Sharn items.
