Talk:Is there a guide for map editing?

I want to update some maps that are missing things, or have them in the wrong place. However I cannot find a guide to fonts size, type, or colors and shapes to match the current ones. I could just edit them, but the changes would look out of place. Ves123 (ContribsMessage) 12:56, August 23, 2015 (EDT)

To the best of my knowledge there isn't a guide. Every person that has done maps over the years has kind of done their most thing for the most part. What I would recommend is just starting with a blank map and going from there. -- Ague (Talk · Contribs · B · D · I · P · PM · PP · UM · UR) 14:01, August 23, 2015 (EDT)
  • There is no guide, per se. The rule of thumb is to make them use the same basic format as all the other ones. Feel free to make any map any way that you think is appropriate, it would be appreciated. I've thought about going through our entire library of maps and redoing them from scratch using overlays (some shown by default and others not) that will let you look at maps with different levels of spoilers (traps, mobs, chests, shrines, etc). It'll probably be some time until I can start on my envisioning for our maps (as it will likely require that .svg images be acceptable, and getting Xevo (Contribs • Message) to make upgrades and add stuff is slow right now). Happy map making! ShoeMaker (ContribsMessage) 17:59, August 23, 2015 (EDT)
