Talk:Iron Defender

I don't think Iron Defenders are Chaotic Evil. If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say they were True Neutral. I can go whack on one of the ones in Miller's Basement with my Holy sword when I get home Sonil 16:01, May 1, 2006 (EDT)

Formatting[edit]

We need to re-format monster page layouts. I already set up the infobox, as it's a template, we can fiddle with it later; but for now, let's make the rest of the page layout look a bit better and contain more relevant information. Let's start with this page, and once we've fileld this one out to our liking, we can work on refactoring the rest of the Monster pages to use a similar format.

On categories, the infobox already puts them in all the appropriate ones I can think of, so I don't think any more need to be directly added to the template. Elliott Cable - ?+¿ - ‹·› 21:22, May 2, 2006 (EDT)

Categorization[edit]

I'm seeing something like this categorization scheme:

  • Monsters by alignment
    • Evil monsters
      • Lawful Evil monsters
      • Neutral Evil monsters
      • Chaotic Evil monsters
    • Neutral monsters
      • Lawful Neutral monsters
      • True Neutral monsters
      • Chaotic Neutral monsters
    • Good monsters
      • Lawful Good monsters
      • Good Good monsters
      • Chaotic Good monsters
  • Monsters by type
    • Aberrations
    • Animals
    • Beasts
    • Constructs
    • Dragons
    • Elementals
    • Giants
    • Magical Beasts
    • Vermin
    • Outsiders
    • Oozes
    • Humanoids
    • Undead

The infobox can do all of this automatically, even the strange plurals like undead(s) [no S] and vermin(s) [again no s], so that's easy enough to integrate (entegrate? lol) - but before I go doing so, are there any other sub-categorization-schemas we should consider? Honestly I don't have enough time to investigate in details what we need. An obvious problem in the current in-progress work by Drydorn is the mix between Neutral something and True Neutral. The other things we may need I can think of right now are Damage reduction / Vulnerabilities / Immunities, which should be investigated in details to see how we should handle them (I don't play a damage character, thus I never cared about those things). Should use full, D&D style, alignments - as stated above. "Neutral" wouldn't be valid, and would mess up the category; but "True Neutral" or "Neutral Evil" would be. Elliott Cable - ?+¿ - ‹·› 17:39, May 3, 2006 (EDT)
