Talk:How to Hit Things
This might seem obvious to experienced players, but for a newbie coming from a different game, this page fails to answer the fundamental question: how do you actually hit something? HTH HAND —NotACat (Contribs • Message • Email) 07:10, August 24, 2016 (EDT)
- Left mouse button click usually performs one basic attack. Holding LMB causes you to swing until you release the button. If you have "autotargeting" enabled (toggled by g key), you hit stuff ahead of you. If you have autotargeting disabled, you need to target stuff. --Cru121 (Contribs • Message • Email) 08:32, August 24, 2016 (EDT)
- Cheers. I've been thinking of giving DDO a try as I'm having such a blast with LOTRO, which is the first proper game I've played since DOOM II, and I've watched a couple of "how to" videos, but they all seem to assume that you have a basic familiarity with FPS games and how they all work at a basic level. I'm familiar with the WASD system of moving from way back, but other than that nothing ;-) Give me a regular game controller and I'm completely lost! —NotACat (Contribs • Message • Email) 09:33, August 24, 2016 (EDT)
