Talk:Character Sheet

Grammar[edit]

This user is a grammar Nazi.

Regarding the constant rollbacks of information on this page:

  • We are not informing the player of their possession of anything - hence no Apostrophe.
  • We are informing the player as to where their information is displayed for players.
    • This in turn makes this a readily available 'type' of information.

Could we please move past the 'ownership' grammar and get back to good sensible editing. UK English Grammar Check Agonshar (ContributionsMessage) | My projects | My ToDo list | My Sandbox | My Links 16:43, October 18, 2014 (EDT)

The character sheet is a player's/his/her/my information source (the information source of the player). It is possessive, not plural. — Zav(C·T·E) 17:26, October 18, 2014 (EDT)

Well - how about we just remove it altogether if there is confusion over how its being used in which context, honestly - discouraging. Agonshar (ContributionsMessage) | My projects | My ToDo list | My Sandbox | My Links 19:00, October 18, 2014 (EDT)

Tabs Case[edit]

  • I don't think the tabs should be referred to in uppercase instead of titlecase just because they appear that way on the UI. That would imply anything in uppercase on the UI should be in uppercase on the wiki, like "Character Sheet." The emphasis and brackets should be enough, but I don't think that is even needed. — Zav(C·T·E) 09:57, October 19, 2014 (EDT)
    • I agree in normal text for the most part, the exception is where it is appropriate to wrap them in a single square bracket and made bold to be a clear representation... Like I've done... Maybe only one instance of this is enough... More discussion is needed for that though. :) ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 10:10, October 19, 2014 (EDT)
      • So use [Feats] as opposed to FEATS or [FEATS]. As far as the number of instances of [Feats] as opposed to Feats, I don't think it matters much, just so it is consistent across pages. A) [Feats] for all instances or B) [Feats] for the first instance and Feats for the rest. — Zav(C·T·E) 12:05, October 19, 2014 (EDT)
        • I'd say "[FEATS]" for the first instance and "feats" for the rest. ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 12:13, October 19, 2014 (EDT)
          • Why uppercase? — Zav(C·T·E) 12:18, October 19, 2014 (EDT)
            • Good question.
              1. More properly reflective of the tabs (I'm debating making look like an actual button though, maybe via screenshot of the tab cropped).
              2. I think it looks better to be all the same case, and lower case doesn't look right... I'd be willing to go small-caps though: [feats]
Just my two cents... ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 12:56, October 19, 2014 (EDT)
              • Good discussion - I have to say I agree with the way in which this looks on each page, much better than before and I also don't believe the pages should have FEATS capitalized everywhere either, the smaller version of capital feats is a much better appearance. My course of action was to get all pages onto the wiki and then format the entire lot accordingly but it works just as well to get a standard in place prior to this. Thanks guys - I'll create - go ahead and tweak :o). Agonshar (ContributionsMessage) | My projects | My ToDo list | My Sandbox | My Links 13:28, October 19, 2014 (EDT)
                • I like [feats] best. I don't think I would like a (screenshot) button, but it could work. — Zav(C·T·E) 14:24, October 19, 2014 (EDT)

Subpages[edit]

Page names[edit]

So... Per our naming convention, all of these pages should be moved to the following page names.

Agonshar, since this is your project, would you like to do the honor of moving the pages. Thanks. :) ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 10:01, October 19, 2014 (EDT)

  • All done just now, thanks for the input - I like this kind of thing - it helps me learn the correct conventions to use and be familiar with.
    • I've also made sure to save the link to the naming policies to refer back to in future.

Talk pages[edit]

Does anyone object to all of the talk pages for the sub-pages redirecting here so we only have to watch one talk page for any comments/requests for edits? I think centralizing all discussion for all of these pages here is a good idea. :) ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 14:37, October 19, 2014 (EDT)

  • I was considering doing this as well. — Zav(C·T·E) 16:41, October 19, 2014 (EDT)
