Old myddo lite went offline a while ago..

I kinda liked it, so I found a new version here from user Silas_O'Reilly: http://ddocrafting.info/myddo/index.php

Works well in a web browser. Only issue is it seems to only work for argonesson and cannith when used in the ingame browser. I tried the contact email on his website to let him know about the bug, but it appears that email address listed is invalid (server returns a 550: user not found). Perhaps he might see this post or someone else might have better luck contacting him about this. → Shade 07:44, March 17, 2012 (EDT)

Figured out a workaround:

Select either cannith or argo.. This highlights the field - then hit arrow key down until your server shows up. Works as the display just gets cut off graphically, but still exsits.

That gets it to work ingame.

Though found another bug in finguring this out:

Item tooltips dont display.. Thus it's impossible to verify players gear except what you can know based on the icons. → Shade 23:53, March 20, 2012 (EDT)

I don't know why, but I go to http://ddocrafting.info/myddo/index.php in FireFox 11.0 and it doesn't matter what server or character name I put in, it just sits there and does nothing. I see the blank Character sheet and blank equipped inventory sheets, but they stay blank.. I've tried looking up toons on Argo, Cannith, and Khyber and none come back with anything.. I know that my accounts can't be private or locked because I use http://myddo.laferteconsulting.com/myddo_console.html with no issues with all of the toons I have tried.. So, is it just REALLY buggy, or is it something I am doing wrong? I have a "Swampbat" on every server iirc, if you want to see if it is my browser or something. ShoeMaker 01:06, March 21, 2012 (EDT)
The Lookup! button does not seem to work for me either. But typing the name and pressing Enter seems to work. FF11 --Cru121 04:54, March 21, 2012 (EDT)

Yea clicking that button doesn't seem to work.. Have to do it all keyboard based: pick server with up/down. Tab to next box, type name, hit return. Works.

That myddo console doesnt work for me anymore.. Probably because all my myddo stuff is screwed up and no longer updates. Meh. → Shade 09:47, March 21, 2012 (EDT)

I noticed the XP bar also doesn't account for past lives and bugs out if you are capped or not on first life. Frowning Face ShoeMaker 09:50, March 21, 2012 (EDT)

Hey guys and gals. Thanks for taking a look at my replacement tool for MyDDO Lite. There are a couple things that I would like to talk about here about the tool.

  • For all updates and known issues, please refer to the following DDO forum thread: Incarnation of a MyDDOLite Style Tool
  • I also ask that bugs be reported in that forum thread as well. If you do not wish to post them there, you can email them to: webmaster@thedungeoncrawlers.com
    • The email does work. I migrated my servers a few months ago and simply forgot to open the account on the new server. This has been fixed. If anyone continues to get the Error 500 that Shade was getting, please let me know on here.
  • Shade, what browser you are using that is giving you such a hard time? I have tested this in current builds of IE9 (9.0.8112.16421), FF (11.0), Chrome (17.0.963.79), Opera (11.61) and Safari (PC version only - 5.1.4 (7534.54.16)). I am aware that the in-game browser is a little borky, but I'm working on a remedy for that. I suspect that the in-game browser is either IE6 or IE7, which requires a considerable rewrite just for those versions, but progress is being made on the development side.
  • Item tooltips do display properly in "real" browsers. They are not as nice looking as the ones in the my.ddo.com realm, but it's a work in progress. Once again, with the in-game browser being older, all fixes regarding the in-game browser are basically trial and error until I can pinpoint exactly how old it is.
  • Shoemaker, I looked up Swampbat in FF11, and that toon shows stats from all servers except for Wayfinder. Upon further research, that character does not exist on the Wayfinder server. When finished typing the character name, just press ENTER and the information is displayed. The clicking the Lookup button is a known issue on certain browsers and is at the top of my To-Fix pile.
  • In all of the browsers listed above, using the mouse to select a server from the dropdown box works. Note that the only OS I have at my disposal to test with is Windows 7, so if you are using a Mac or Linux installation, I have not bug-tested in those OS's browser versions.
  • Shoemaker, the XP bar not displaying properly for TR characters is an issue on Turbine's side. The information that I receive back from their API is buggy and I have no way of knowing 100% if the toon is a 2nd lifer or 3rd lifer. I have a possible fix working that I will devote more of my attention to once I get the problems on the Known Issue List corrected first. The known issue list is part of the OP on my forum thread mentioned above.

In regards to the character data not updating properly, I'm hoping that with the recent debacle that occured when the ddo.com servers went down for maintenance, enough attention was brought to the web team at Turbine about my.ddo.com that something might be done to fix it, but part of me doesn't forsee anything anytime soon in regards to a fix for it. → Keesh 03:11, March 22, 2012 (EDT)

I took a look at the client side HTML source for your form and it looks like you are using <input type="button" id="lookup" value="Lookup!" name="lookup" /> instead of <input type="submit" id="lookup" value="Lookup!" name="lookup" /> That minor change of changing the type from button to submit "Should" make it work for you. I'll see if I can help you with the past lives. Turbine's MyDDO actually does have that information, if you know where to find it. ShoeMaker 08:53, March 22, 2012 (EDT)

Thanks for the reply. Yea don't do the official forum atm for various reasons, I'll try the email again if i notice other bugs.

RE: Browser in windows7 - Works fine, most of the issues are limited to the ingame browser except the known issue of the lookup button not working.. return key works fine. Though for reference I use latest auto update FF (10, think they will up to 11 soon).

The ingame browser - It's actaully mozilla embedded.. You can look at it's exact details and functionality in the game files. DDO Folder\Browser. It's not a super old version, build date seems to be around 2010.

Odd they use that since the launcher uses IE6.. Launcher is ancient garbage.

Yea they'll never get character data updating right, most of mine are over a year out of date. They only fixed the character log, which matters for tools like raid timers, not so much yours. → Shade 11:43, March 22, 2012 (EDT)

I found the HTML code for past lives:

Local page for Ague's website[edit]

Just some notes.

  • Shoemaker, thanks for catching that. As i stated in my reply to your official forum post, originally, I only had click functionality and added the HTML form tags afterwards for added compatibility. I simply forgot to change the button type from 'button' to 'submit'.
  • Shade, the lookup button has been fixed thanks to Shoemaker pointing out my blatant mistake. And the day MyDDO updates correctly will likely be the day hell freezes over.. :)
  • Shoemaker, you were on the right path, but the workaround I have been working on parsed a slightly different part of MyDDO. The update is now live and correctly shows 'current life' experience. I considered displaying stats for all lives like MyDDO does, but that would take some time. Characters like Lithic's Star on Argo and other multi-TR toons would just make the overall display of data take forever. So until the actual API is updated so the data comes to the user in raw format, that just isn't a fair trade-off on info display performance.

On a different note, I would like to create a page on the wiki for my tool and any other tools I develop in the future, but my knowledge of wiki formatting is somewhat limited at the moment. And I still haven't decided on a concrete name for the tool either. But when the time does come, I would appreciate some help getting a page up and running for it.→ Keesh 02:03, March 23, 2012 (EDT)

Ya been meaning to make one for you for a while now.. Just been sick all week so couldn't get much done. But I started it up for ya today, check it out:

Just a simple page explaining your tools for now. I also made some redirects there from this pages non-talk, and set up a link from fansite.s. and reintegrated fansites into the homepage, so ppl can find it. (We took it out ages as most of our fansite links were crap, but this is one deserving of mentions, so i put it back).

Feel free to edit it at all will to clean it up, change its name, move it, etc.→ Shade (ContributionsMessage) 09:01, April 8, 2012 (EDT)

Possible name change[edit]

I have finally decided what to name the site.

YourDDO

It has kind of a nice ring to it.→ Keesh 22:51, March 23, 2012 (EDT)

I made you a sandbox to test things out with (wiki-coding wise), click on the Sand Box tab on your User page. Yawgmoth 01:02, March 24, 2012 (EDT)
I've actually already started putting together User:Technical_13/Characters a process similar to YourDDO. You can click on any of the blue named characters on that page, and go to a specific character page for them. I was going to have it set up so that people could manually enter all of their data. Now that I have access to the API, I'll probably have it try to pull up as much information as it can and then they only would have to fill in the blanks. As a sidenote.. Please see your user talk page Keesh.. ShoeMaker 03:36, March 24, 2012 (EDT)

So what kind of templates are available to me on here? I want to make a page for my web tools, but I don't know if there are already predetermined templates available, or if I'll just have to work something up from scratch... Keesh 23:55, March 26, 2012 (EDT)

Well... You can get yourself a list of all of the extensions and allowed raw html codes available on this wiki here. Currently, most of our templates have to do with the game itself, but you can find a list with "most" of them Here . Unfortunately, at this point in time, our ability to get input from a user is minimal. We do however have the widget extension installed and you could probably build your tools in that environment. If you wanted to do that and email me what you come up with so I can test it out before it goes live on here, I would be happy to give you the required permissions to put it on the wiki. I would be happy to assist you with any questions you may have. I am fairly resourceful when it comes to making things available here. ShoeMaker (ContributionsMessage) 00:11, March 27, 2012 (EDT)
I didn't mean integrate the tool into the wiki, even though that is an interesting idea... I just wanna start basic with an informational page about it. Keesh 22:18, March 27, 2012 (EDT)
Oh, in that case, simply affix {{Wikify}} to the top of the page. That will put a banner up telling people that you made the page using html tags instead of wiki tags (Mostly the same except for tables, 'bold or italic phrases, or headings which use == for H2, === for H3 and so on.. Never use just = for H1 as it may break the page.... ShoeMaker (ContributionsMessage) 00:56, March 28, 2012 (EDT)
