    • Taggart d'Deneith: Flattery, eh? Get this straight, <race> - flattery won't help you with House Deneith. We value speed with a blade, not skill with your tongue.
    • Taggart d'Deneith: But right now we're in no position to be choosy. We need troops now to deal with this pirate situation, and we need them right away. So what do you say? I hope we can count on you.

      • You: What is the Blood Tide, anyway?
        • Taggart d'Deneith: The Blood Tide is the most brutal band of pirates Xen'drik has ever seen. Most pirates are amateurs who hijack a grog shipment every now and then. But the Blood Tide - well, they're involved with slaving, assassination, necromancy and the Host knows what else.
        • Taggart d'Deneith: They're a motley collection of hobgoblins, Drow, Karrnathi refugees, and other refuse lead by a mysterious figure called Captain Tew. I don't think anyone knows who Tew is or where he came from, except maybe that pet rat he travels around with. What we do know is that he's turned the Blood Tide into a formidable force, and we've been paid to put an end to them.

    • Taggart d'Deneith: In it for the money, eh? Well, you're right, House Deneith will compensate you handsomely. Just don't forget that you'll be representing House Deneith in everything you do and there's no room here for cowards or those without honor.

The General Manager

After getting the chain, he will assign you your first objective:

After you successfully completes Bargain of Blood, he will say:

• Taggart d'Deneith: So the pirates at the Bargain Bazaar knew you were coming? That's troubling, <name>, very troubling. We'll start investigating the leak right away.
• Taggart d'Deneith: But we'll worry about that later. In the meantime we have more Blood Tide operations to shut down.
• You: So what's my next assignment?

The Secret of the Loch

He will then assign you your second objective:

• Taggart d'Deneith: The Blood Tide has got guts, I'll give them that. They don't just attack helpless merchants. Now they're attacking other pirates as well!
• Taggart d'Deneith: The Blood Tide has attacked and occupied a place called the Black Loch over on Three Barrel Cove. This so upset the locals - most of 'em pirates themselves - that they hired us to take back the Black Loch.
• Taggart d'Deneith: Go find Tyn d'Deneith and she'll take you to the Black Loch. You'll find her down by the docks to the east of here.
  • You: I'll talk to Tyn d'Deneith about the Black Loch. (Advance chain)
  • You: Why is House Deneith helping pirates fight other pirates?
    • Taggart d'Deneith: Because we're paid to! House Deneith fulfills its contracts, no matter who they're with. If it help you sleep better at night, <name>, know that the Blood Tide makes the inhabitants of Three Barrel cove look like a bunch of virtuous little Archons in comparison.

After you successfully completes The Black Loch, he will say:

• Taggart d'Deneith: You did well at the Black Loch, <name>. It seems the Blood Tide has Karrnathi necromancers in their ranks, which makes them a much bigger threat than we previously through.
• Taggart d'Deneith: I hope you enjoy the sea air, by the way, because the next mission involves lots of it.
• You: So what's my next assignment?

Island Assault

• Taggart d'Deneith: We're getting ready to strike a major blow against the Blood Tide's sea operations. They have an island base they're building up, and we ... or more precisely you ... are going to tear it down.
• Taggart d'Deneith: Talk to Galton d'Deneith and he'll tell you what to do next. Galton is just south of here, over in the Guard's Watch.

    • Taggart d'Deneith: Confound it soldier, you ask too many questions for your own good! As it happens the people planning this particular operation want to consult with you about the details first. For some reason they think you know what you're talking about. Now stop gabbing and go talk to Galton!

After you successfully completes Storm the Beaches, he will say:

• Taggart d'Deneith: Outstanding work, soldier! With that island knocked out we have the Blood Tide on the run.
• Taggart d'Deneith: The only flies in the ointment are reports of Blood Tide spies sneaking into House Deneith. But we have good people looking into that problem.
• Taggart d'Deneith: Right now you have something more important to worry about. The commander is waiting for you!
• You: What's wrong?

The Final Battle

He will then assign you your last objective:

• Taggart d'Deneith: Greigur d'deneith, commander of all House Deneith forces in Stormreach, wants to talk to you. I'm not sure what he wants, <name>, but you've obviously impressed him. He's standing right over there, near the door to the House Deneith Tower.

After you successfully completes The Tide Turns, and thus the chain, he will say:

• Taggart d'Deneith: <name>, thank the Host you were there in the tower! You transformed House Deneith's darkest moment into one of our most glorious victories. Tew and that ... thing ... that controlled him are dead and the Blood Tide has been destroyed.
• Taggart d'Deneith: Your name will be enrolled in the House Deneith annals as one of the bravest sentinels of Stormreach.

After completing the chain and take the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:

• Taggart d'Deneith: Now brace yourself. You may find it hard to believe, but we've had fresh report of vile piracy, brazen raids - why, even that blasted bazaar has cropped back up, right where it had been.
• Taggart d'Deneith: It can mean but one thing: the Blood Tide are back. You've fought them before. Will you fight them again?
