Tips

Shining Crescents are unique in several ways (April 2016 tests):

  • It is the only two-handed light weapon in DDO, meaning it is the only finesseable two-hander. Thus it's the only finesse weapon that can gain +10 damage from Power Attack.
  • Separately, pure monks are not proficient with this item but it still allows monks to treat it as a ki weapon, remaining centered and with access to most of their class's special attacks when holding it.
  • The weapon's type is Sickle, so it benefits from the Improved Critical: Slashing Weapons and Weapon Focus: Slashing Weapons Feats.
  • Because it uses the quarterstaff attack animations, it benefits from the Rogue Thief Acrobatics enhancement for up to +15% attack speed and is a valid weapon for use with Quick Strike, Sweeping Strikes, Staff Lunge, and Vault. But because it is not typed as a quarterstaff, Thief-Acrobat Staff Control, Stick Fighting, Acrobat Staff Training, and Staff Specialization do not apply to it.
  • Despite being a sickle, this weapon is not compatible with Swashbuckling.
  • Despite being a two-handed weapon, it can benefit from Single Weapon Fighting feats.

Bug: Shining Crescents currently benefits from Single Weapon Fighting feats, even though it is a two-handed weapon. This will be fixed in a future update.DDO Forums
