Quivers

Overview[edit]

Quivers hold both arrows and bolts. A single quiver can be placed into your Quiver slot in your inventory panel. Arrows and/or bolts can be placed in the quiver, and, if you have no appropriate ammunition in your ammo slot when you use a bow/crossbow, the first (top) ammo that is weapon- and level- appropriate* will be transferred to your ammo slot to be fired. Quivers can be set to automatically gather arrows/bolts when you loot, and the ammo stored within them can be prioritized to select which ammunition stacks will be used first by moving the ammunition up or down within the quiver.

(* If you have inappropriate ammo currently slotted in your ammo slot - i.e. bolts when using a bow, or arrows when using a crossbow - that ammo will be moved to general inventory. Ammo that has too high a minimum-level for your character will be ignored and never slotted.)

You can have multiple quivers in your inventory at once, however only a quiver currently equipped will have arrows/bolts taken from it when firing a bow/crossbow* - any ammo in a quiver that is in your inventory will remain untouched.

(* Once your equipped quiver is empty, only arrows/bolts that are "loose" (i.e. not in a quiver in inventory) will be moved to your ammo slot. These are selected on a "first listed" basis, working from the left-most inventory slot, top down.)

Placing Bound to Account ammunition (such as arrows/bolts from Cannith Crafting) into any quiver occasionally changes quiver's binding to Bound to Account, allowing you to transfer it via a Shared Bank.

Many quivers, even ones available in-game for only a few platinum, may also be bought from the DDO Store (see table below).

Many Bound to CharacterIcon tooltip.pngBound to Character: This item is Bound to Character quivers that are found in higher level quests have no minimum level (listed as ML "1" below). This is useful after reincarnation.

The quiver adds 1d2/1d3/1d4 poison damage for the Heroic versions and 1d6/1d8/1d10 poison damage for the Epic versions to any ranged attack while the quiver is equipped (works on arrows, bolts, and throwing weapons).
