Notes: Tremas first appears as a professor in the Chronoscope. When devils attack, he reveals his true identity and kidnaps Nelle Gann.

The Chronoscope

When you first arrive at the excavation site, if you talk to him, he will say:

• Professor Tremas: What are you lot doing here? I wasn't expecting guests...

After Nelle Gann allow you to stay as guests, you can talk to him to start the ritual:

• Professor Tremas: Are you ready for me to activate the Chronoscope?
• Professor Tremas: I will be manipulating ancient powers of cosmic significance! The slightest error could open a rift to Xoriat, summon one of the Lords of Dust, or simply disintegrate us all
• Professor Tremas: Once we begin, the ritual cannot be interrupted!
  • You: Yes, yes, we are ready. (Start the ritual)
  • You: My friends and I need to prepare some more.
    • Professor Tremas: Hmm, yes, perhaps you and your friends should return to the safety of Stormreach....

After you tell Tremas to start the ritual, it start:

• Professor Tremas: Caratrix, begin channeling Nelle Gann's thoughts into the Chronoscope!
• Professor Tremas: Now Miss Nelle, this is very important... think back to the last time you saw your brother.
• Nelle Gann: Yes, that was in Stormreach. He was performing at his favorite spot by the Pawn Exchange... the day the Devil army attacked.
• Nelle Gann: The Devils overwhelmed us. People were panicking, trying to flee... and I lost sight of Nat! Oh, Nat, where did you go?
• Retcon: Mistress Nelle? Something is happening...
• Professor Tremas: At last!
• Dungeon Master: Nelle and her companions vanished into a portal! Before you can follow, a green creature appears of out nowhere and sneers,
• Bazdor: Alright boys! Tremas' orders are to kill the squid-face and anyone else left here! (Start battle)

The next time you see Tremas again, he is keeping Nelle Gann prisoner inside the Phoenix Tavern. When you talk to him, he will say:

• "Professor" Tremas: I can't BELIEVE it!
• "Professor" Tremas: I finally managed to travel into the past, taking advantage of the Devil attack on the Lordsmarch Bank in order to steal the Gann's deposit box.
• "Professor" Tremas: And now that I have it, I find that it's LOCKED!
  • You: Tremas, you worm If you've hurt Nelle...
    • "Professor" Tremas: Oh please, spare me your clichéd threats.
    • "Professor" Tremas: Let's skip directly to the part where I extort favors out of you by threatening Nelle Gann's life, shall we?
      • You: All right, you scum. What do you want me to do?
        • "Professor" Tremas: You will go to the Bank of Kundarak, to their Lordsmarch branch just next door.
        • "Professor" Tremas: There, you must acquire the key to the Gann's deposit box. I don't care what you have to do to get it!
        • "Professor" Tremas: Bring the key back to me, and Nelle Gann might—just might—live to grow into a dotty old woman.
        • "Professor" Tremas: Just one more thing. You might run into a muscle-brained Devil named Blood Plate. He's... the aggressive type. Ha, hah, good luck, fools!
      • You: Forget about it—I don't work for the likes of you!
        • "Professor" Tremas: Perhaps another of your party will be reasonable and give me what I want. Otherwise, Nelle Gann will suffer for your ego.
  • You: What... are those horns on your head? When did you become a Tiefling?!?
    • "Professor" Tremas: Fool, I've always been a Tiefling!
    • "Professor" Tremas: But don't be disappointed in yourself—I've become very good at disguising myself as Human over the years.... years that I spent researching and obsessing over a way to return to this moment in history.
    • "Professor" Tremas: But let's keep on track, shall we? I want you to do something for me, and in return, I will release Nelle Gann.
      • You: All right, you scum. What do you want me to do? (See above)
      • You: Forget about it—I don't work for the likes of you!
        • "Professor" Tremas: Perhaps another of your party will be reasonable and give me what I want. Otherwise, Nelle Gann will suffer for your ego.

Talking to him again before you retrieve the key will make him say:

• "Professor" Tremas: Do you have key to the Gann's deposit box yet?
• "Professor" Tremas: You'll need to go to the Lordsmarch Bank just next door to get it.
• "Professor" Tremas: Time is running out!
• You: What... are those horns on your head? When did you become a Tiefling?!?
• "Professor" Tremas: Fool, I've always been a Tiefling!

After you take the key from Tad Darksteel and return, he will ask:

• "Professor" Tremas: Do you have the key to the Gann's deposit box yet?
• You: I have the key right here. Now, release Nelle Gann!
• "Professor" Tremas: Tremas eagerly takes the key and unlocks the deposit box. At last I have it, the weapon that I traveled back in time for...
• "Professor" Tremas: ... the Sliver of Time!
• "Professor" Tremas: Now, to keep my bargain. I shall return Nelle Gann to you... as a dying old woman
• Nelle Gann: Oh!
• "Professor" Tremas: Ahh, that's better. Now that I have stolen her youth for myself, I'm headed for the Market tent...
• "Professor" Tremas: ... where I shall kill General Suulomades with the Sliver of Time and become the new leader of the Devil army! Har, har, haha!

When you can enter the Marketplace Bazaar, you meet him again:

• Tremas: Suulomades, I call you out! Hear me!
• Tremas: Tremas is attempting to summon the Devil General to this tent! But when he sees you, Tremas stops his incantations and fumes, It's YOU again! What does it take to make you give up?!?
• Tremas: My abishai minions, come, destroy the mortal pests!

After you defeat the Conjoined Abishai Devastator, Suulomades arrives on the scene:

• Suulomades: Why do you summon me, Tiefling? Are you so eager to die?
• Tremas: You're the one who will die... when I use the Sliver of Time to drain your youth!
• Tremas: The Sliver of Time shattered! How...?
• Suulomades: Har-haha, idiotic Tiefling, you cannot steal youth from one who is immortal!
• Tremas: Nooo, mercy, my lord Suulomades!
• Suulomades: I think I shall take you back to Shavarath and have you put to the question.
