Requires access to adventure pack: The Chill of Ravenloft

Viktranium Experiment crafting is a Heroic (ML 8) and Legendary (ML34) crafting system introduced in Update 75: The Chill of Ravenloft.

The system is very similar to Dinosaur Bone crafting: Collect ingredients, craft them into specially typed Lamordia augments, and place those augments into special augment slots.

Ingredients[edit]

This crafting system features a total of 6 crafting ingredients, which come in Heroic and Legendary versions:

  • Found in Chill of Ravenloft quests, wilderness encounters and raid:
    • Bleak Conductors
    • Bleak Insulators
    • Bleak Alternators
    • Bleak Resistors
  • Found in the raid and wilderness encounters:
    • Bleak Wires

Crafting[edit]

Interact with the workbenches in Ludendorf City Hall (one workbench each for the Heroic and Legendary systems) to access the barter window to create Lamordia augments and Calamitous weapons. To slot a Lamordia augment into a Lamordia augment slot, use the Augment Item UI accessible through your Inventory Panel.

Heroic Calamitous weapons cost 5 Bleak Alternators, 5 Bleak Conductors, 5 Bleak Insulators and 5 Bleak Resistors to craft and cannot have Mythic bonuses.

  • Heroic Calamitous weapons have:
    • +4 Enhancement Bonus and 1[W].
    • Vampirism 1
    • Melancholic Slot (Weapon)
    • Dolorous Slot (Weapon)
    • Miserable Slot (Weapon)
    • Red Augment Slot

Legendary Calamitous weapons cost 25 Legendary Bleak Alternators, 25 Legendary Bleak Conductors, 25 Legendary Bleak Insulators and 25 Legendary Bleak Resistors to craft and cannot have Mythic bonuses.

  • Legendary Calamitous weapons have:
    • +15 Enhancement Bonus, 5.8[W], and +2/+4 weighted weapon dice (For 1h and 2h weapons respectively)

    • Dolorous Slot (Weapon)
    • Miserable Slot (Weapon)
    • Woeful Slot (Weapon)
    • Orange Augment Slot

Legendary Cataclysmic weapons cost the same amount of regular materials as Legendary Calamitous weapons, but additionally require 25 Legendary Bleak Mementos, a material only dropped in the raid Relentless. Information about them can be found here, in the section regarding the raid. They are crafted inside of the raid, using a special crafting station.

Unlike Calamitous, it is possible to craft Cataclysmic shields.

The only real difference between Legendary Calamitous and Cataclysmic weapons (of the same type) is that Cataclysmic weapons have +3/+6 weighted weapon dice, and can be found pre-crafted (thus allowing them to drop with Mythic bonuses.)

Lamordia Augments[edit]

There are 4 Lamordia augment types, each requiring ingredients from different locations (the Set Bonus slot found on Dinosaur Bone items is here replaced by Sun and Moon Augment Slots):

  • Melancholic (Quests)
  • Dolorous (Quests)
  • Miserable (Wilderness)
  • Woeful (Raid or special Wilderness encounters)

These augment types can come in multiple variants: Armor, Weapon, and Accessory. Each augment type can only fit into an augment slot that exactly matches its type. For example, a "Melancholic (Weapon)" augment cannot go in a "Melancholic Slot (Armor)" slot, only a "Melancholic Slot (Weapon)" slot. You can check which augment type an augment is by looking at its tooltip for the Augment Type row, and then match it to the tooltip of the item you are trying to augment.

Note that Heroic slots will accept Legendary augments (and vice versa) but a Legendary augment will increase the minimum level of a heroic item to 34.

Items with Lamordia augment slots[edit]

  • Category:Viktranium Experiment Crafting items
  • Most standard named items from The Chill of Ravenloft have a Melancholic and Dolorous Lamordia augment slot. Certain items (including Rare items and Minor Artifacts) additionally have a Miserable Slot. Calamitous Weapons have all three slots, plus a Woeful slot on Legendary only. Downcast Armor items are the only items to possess a Woeful (Accessory) slot.

Wicked Viktranium Experiment Crafting is a separate crafting machine that creates extra augment options using the standard Legendary Viktranium Experiment ingredients and Bleak Mementos, a unique ingredient from the legendary raid Relentless. Only Legendary versions of these augments are available.

The device is found inside the raid Relentless, where it is located at the beginning and can be accessed before the wax statues activate. Find it to the left, through the door, when you enter. (The device can also be accessed at the corresponding location in the Ludendorf Wax Museum in the Lamordia wilderness.)

  • BUG': Currently you cannot click on the doors in the Wax Museum to open. To open, you must use the keyboard - target the doors with the target key, then press the interact key.

Legendary Cataclysmic Weapons and Shields[edit]

Legendary Cataclysmic weapons cost 25 Legendary Bleak Alternators, 25 Legendary Bleak Conductors, 25 Legendary Bleak Insulators, 25 Legendary Bleak Resistors, 25 Bleak Mementos to craft and if crafted cannot have Mythic bonuses. It is possible for completed items to drop in the raid, however: these completed items can have Mythic bonuses.

  • Legendary Cataclysmic weapons have:
    • +15 Enhancement Bonus, 5.8[W], and +3/+6 weighted weapon dice (For 1h and 2h weapons respectively)
    • Melancholic Slot (Weapon)
    • Dolorous Slot (Weapon)
    • Miserable Slot (Weapon)
    • Woeful Slot (Weapon)
    • Orange Augment Slot
    • Purple Augment Slot

In comparison to Calamitous weapons, Cataclysmic weapons have an extra +1/+2 weighted weapon dice, and can have Mythic bonuses.

Legendary Cataclysmic shields cost and share a majority of the same effects as weapons.

The shields have special loaded damage dice based on type:

  • Buckler: +6 loaded weapon dice, +0.2[w] (For a total of 6[w])
  • Small and Large Shield: +8 loaded damage dice
  • Tower Shield: +10 loaded damage dice

Unslotting[edit]

Lamordia augments can be unslotted or overwritten:

  • You can destroy a currently-slotted augment by placing a new augment into the slot.
  • You can unslot a Lamordia augment by using a Viktranium Pick, which is a rare ingredient found within chests in the Chill of Ravenloft pack or purchased in the DDO Store. This process returns the augment to you unharmed so that you may slot it in a new location. Viktranium Picks may also be found as rewards from Chill of Ravenloft's Sagas. A Jeweler's Tool Kit will not work.
