There are three 'pre-set' input maps; "Default", "FPS Style", and "Classic". Most of the settings for these three are the same. Exceptions are listed in the table below. New players will start the game with the 'Default' pre-sets.

Clicking on the button on the left with the name of the action will bring up a dialog window allowing you to bind key(s) for that action. You can assign one or two key combinations for each action. Hovering the mouse over these buttons will also display a pop-up with additional information for some of the settings. The 'Clear' button on each row will remove all bindings for that action. Note that while the pre-set defaults include some keys bound to multiple commands (e.g. Button 0 bound to Attack, Interact, and Accept Choice), any bindings set by the user will automatically remove all existing bindings for that key combination. Thus, you can only bind each key combination to a single action. Also, while the 'ESC' key is bound to 'Cancel / Close Panel' by default, it is not possible to manually bind this key to any action because 'ESC' is also used as the control to cancel requests to bind an action.

The 'Default' button at the lower right of the window, not to be confused with the 'Default' pre-set under the 'Key Mapping' button, will reset all mappings to the defaults shown on this page for whichever pre-set is currently active.

The keymap file can be found at '\Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online\ddo.keymap' by default.
