Description: Kear is the proper owner of the Stormreaver Fresco you unwittingly helped to steal in the quest of the same name. He's willing to overlook your involvement if you can retrieve the item from the Sharn Syndicate for him - since he happens to be a dragon, the alternative is properly best left unspoken.

Notes: As he is stated by Yorrick Amanatu to be a Gold Dragon, Kear is currently DDO's only confirmed metallic dragon.

The Marketplace

If you try to talk to him at any time, he will reply:

• Kear: Good day to you.

If you have completed the quest The Stormreaver Fresco, however, he will reply:

• Kear: A moment of your time, <name>. That is your name, is it not?
• Kear: You see, I flew all the way here from Argonessen to pick up my new acquisition: a Stormreaver Fresco fragment. But I arrive only to find it stolen from the Lordsmarch Bank.
• Kear: Now, I am a reasonable being, so I ask you..., would you kindly return what you've taken from me?
  • You: I want to help you, but a warforged named Zircon stole it. I don't know where it is.
    • Kear: Ah, Zircon. He's a Sharn Syndicate underlord, is he not? -- This time they'll choke on the trouble they've bitten off.
    • Kear: <name>, there's a Syndicate safehouse right here in Stormreach's Marketplace. Zircon will be staying there. Repossess the Stormreach Fresco, and I'll forgive your trespasses.
    • Kear: Go now. Zircon and the Fresco are in Goldstone Manor, between here and Remembrance Plaza.
      • You: Very well. I'll make Zircon pay for messing with me. (Bestow quest)
      • You: Very well. I'll return the fresco to you. (Bestow quest)
  • You: (Bluff) I think you have the wrong person, friend. Perhaps you should ask the Stormreach Guard for help.
    • Kear: Please, <name>. I am very well informed. I know you were in the Lordsmarch Bank vault when my property was stolen. -- Do not deny it; my facts are certain!
    • Kear: I advise you to deal with me fairly.
    • Kear: You do not wish to make an enemy of Argonessen. You do know who we are, do you not?
      • You: I was framed, I swear it! It was a warforged named Zircon who stole your fresco. (See above)
      • You: Who are you? How do you know my name? (See below)
  • You: Who are you? How do you know my name?
    • Kear: Hmm, I forget sometimes how ignorant the lesser races are.
    • Kear: Argonessen is the continent where dragons live. I am from Argonessen. Can you follow the logical conclusion?
    • Kear: And as for how I know you..., well, information is power, and I am very powerful.
      • You: A warforged named Zircon who stole your fresco. I want to help you, but I don't know where it is. (See above)

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

• Kear: Go now. Zircon is hiding the Stormreaver Fresco in Goldstone Manor, between here and Remembrance Plaza.

On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:

• Kear: Ahh, you retrieved the Stormreaver Fresco.
• Kear: It is a truthful depiction of the Stormreaver. With this fresco, I hope to better understand the Stormreaver's role in the Prophecy.
• Kear: I will speak with Coin Lord Yorrick Amanatu and make sure you are held blameless in this whole matter. Farewell, <name>, and may the Sharn Syndicate never entangle you in their schemes again.

After completing the quest and take the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:

• Kear: The Stormreaver Fresco fragment has been quite helpful in my research. At this rate, I shall unravel the Prophecy in only a few centuries.
• Kear: I hope you are faring well, <name>. Remember to be wary of further duplicity from the Sharn Syndicate.
