question never can be answered ...?[edit]

out of curiosity, how do you guys think, what kind of armor is this and how this should be categorized?

Kundarak Delving Suit
Light Armor Armor : 10 (base 5, +5 Enhancement) Max Dex: 6 (base 4, +2 from Mithral) ACP : 0 (base 2 at most, -2 from Mithral) ASF : 30 % (base 40%, -10% from Mithral?) Weight : 40 lbs (base 80lbs, 50% reduction from Mithral?)
+5 Elven Chainmail
Light Armor (base Midum, reduction from Mithral) Armor : 10 (base 5, +5 Enhancement) Max Dex: 4 (base 2, +2 from Mithral) ACP : 3 (base 5, -2 from Mithral) ASF : 20 % (base 30%, -10% from Mithral) Weight : 20 lbs (base 40lbs, 50% reduction from Mithral)
+5 Mithral Breastplate
Light Armor (base Midum, reduction from Mithral) Armor : 10 (base 5, +5 Enhancement) Max Dex: 5 (base 3, +2 from Mithral) ACP : 2 (base 4, -2 from Mithral) ASF : 15 % (base 25%, -10% from Mithral) Weight : 15 lbs (base 30lbs, 50% reduction from Mithral)
+5 Mithral Chainshirt
Light Armor Armor : 9 (base 4, +5 Enhancement) Max Dex: 6 (base 4, +2 from Mithral) ACP : 0 (base 2, -2 from Mithral) ASF : 10 % (base 20%, -10% from Mithral) Weight : ?? lbs (base ??lbs, 50% reduction from Mithral)
  • Elven Chainmail with improved Max Dex and ACP, somehow Mithral is not applied to ASF and Weight
  • Mithral Breastplate with improved Max Dex and ACP, bad ASF and Weight
  • Mithral Chainshirt with improved Armor, bad ASF and Weight

i rather wanna think this is a chainmail, cuz its icon is chainmail's and it actually looks like it when worn. but most ppl consider this as a chainshirt, probably because its popular among rogues and rangers, typical usage is like mithral chainshirt's. yoko5000 21:44, December 17, 2007 (EST)

One of those oldest debates in the game. Only a dev can truly answer this question. For me it is a Chainmail with a higher MDB. But this does make me wonder if we should use the type field in our armor templates? Ask yourselves this (Is a fighter going to care if its Full plate or Halfplate if it gives him the Highest AC? Is a ranger/rogue type going to care if its chainmail or chainshirt when what they are after is the Light armor for evasion and possible ac?). Dragonstar 08:20, December 18, 2007 (EST)
Agreed. Light, medium and heavy only! :) Borror0 14:34, December 18, 2007 (EST)
currently this is categorized under {{Cl|1=Unique Chain shirts}} and {{Cl|1=Unique Light armors}}. conclusion is, we utilize (and may expand) {{Cl|1=Unique Light armors}} but {{Cl|1=Unique Chain shirts}} will be left at that or removed. right? yoko5000 20:28, December 18, 2007 (EST)
Removed. Borror0 20:42, December 18, 2007 (EST)
Yep removed, going to modify the template and try and put all the armors in the system tomorrow and thursday.Looks like I have all the screenshots for them. Dragonstar 21:02, December 18, 2007 (EST)
