Haste effects
Name: Flame Arrow
School: Transmutation
Spell Level: Brd 3, Sor/Wiz 3, Wlk 3
Components: VerbalIcon tooltip.pngVerbal: A verbal component is a spoken incantation. You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot act or speak. Certain rare spells, such as Silence Creature, may temporarily disable spells that require verbal components., SomaticIcon tooltip.pngSomatic: A somatic component is a measured and precise movement of the hand. You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot move causing arcane spell failure resulting in a ruined spell. Spells without a somatic component may be used with disregard to Arcane Spell Failure chance. Note - that characters make the same arm gestures for most spells in DDO, so you can't tell which spells require this component by watching your character's animations., MaterialIcon tooltip.pngMaterial: A material component is one or more physical substances or objects that are annihilated by the spell energies in the casting process. You must have the required items in your inventory. If you run out of the components, the game will not allow you to cast the spell and will instead inform you of what component is missing. The metamagic feat Eschew Materials and some enhancements in Draconic Incarnation can remove this restriction.
Spell Point Cost: 20
Metamagic: Enlarge, Eschew, Extend, Quicken
Target: Friend, Self
Range: Standard AOE
Duration: 6 seconds per caster level
Saving Throw:
Spell Resistance:
Cooldown: 3 seconds (Wiz/Brd), 2 seconds (Sor)

Creatures in the area are quickened and gain a 32% enhancement bonus to run speed, and a 15% enhancement bonus to attack speed. In addition the recipient gains a +1 untyped bonus to attack rolls, plus a +1% dodge bonus and Reflex saves. Dispels and counters Slow.

Minor bug: You receive a +1 untyped bonus instead of enhancement on attack rolls.

  • The attack speed increase is an enhancement bonus, so it will not stack with other enhancement bonuses (Monk air stance, Speed/Striding), but will stack with bonuses of other types (Rogue or Fighter haste boost.)
  • Differs from Expeditious Retreat, which is self only and increases running speed by 25%, but not combat speed. Expeditious Retreat however lasts some ten times longer, and uses half as many spell points.
  • Differs from Shadow Walk, which is self only and increases running speed by (Actual: 40%, Listed: 50%), but not combat speed. Shadow Walk however lasts some ten times longer, uses 30 spell points, but also makes you harder to hit (50% displacement).
