If you try to talk to him while at level 1, he will reply:
- Guard Kayd: Say, after you get a bit more experience under your belt, maybe you can help me out.
If you are at level 2 or higher, however, he will reply:
- Guard Kayd: Citizen, the Stormreach Guard needs you!
- You: What is it that you want?
- Guard Kayd: The Sharn Syndicate is using that building across the street as a front for their money laundering.
- Guard Kayd: I've got orders to close them down but I don't have the manpower to do it alone.
- Guard Kayd: I need you to go in there and stop the illicit and immoral things they're up to.
- You: Of course. I'm happy to help the city guard whenever I can.
- Guard Kayd: I knew the Stormreach Guard could count on you!
- Guard Kayd: Now, that building is called the Shiny Shilling. The accountants are quietly shifting accounts around. We can trace back the money, but the money launderers have to be dealt with first.
- Guard Kayd: Go in there and give them what for! (Bestow quest)
- You: You sound a little too upstanding about this. What's the real deal?
- Guard Kayd: Okay, here's the thing. The Sharn Syndicate has been operating in Stormreach without paying the proper respect to Coin Lord Amanatu, if you get my drift.
- Guard Kayd: Don't look so shocked. It's not like we take money to ignore murders and such.
- Guard Kayd: But Amanatu wants the Syndicate shut down. Hard.
- You: Well, when you put it that way... (see above)
- You: Of course. I'm happy to help the city guard whenever I can.
Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:
- Guard Kayd: Go to the Shiny Shilling just across the street, and show the Sharn Syndicate the error of their ways.
On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:
- Guard Kayd: <name>, you're back!
- Guard Kayd: I was starting to worry they'd gotten you.
- Guard Kayd: So, did you explain the situation to the accountants?
- You: Tell the Coin Lords the Shiny Shilling won't be open tomorrow, or ever again.
- Guard Kayd: Outstanding! You have the Guard's gratitude. And here's a little reward for helping the good guys.
After completing the quest and take the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:
- Guard Kayd: Great job! It'll take the Sharn Syndicate months to recover from this.
