Description

Envelops the caster in a sickly aura of negative energy. Living enemies stepping inside the aura take 3d4 negative energy damage plus 1 additional point per 2 caster levels (max 3d4+10 at caster level 20) every three seconds as long as they remain within it. A successful Fortitude save reduces the damage by half. Friendly Undead are instead healed by the aura.

Notes

  • Bug: In-game description states damage is +1 per Caster level and not every 2.
  • The spell will (while continuing its countdown) stop working when Unconscious; if brought back to consciousness the spell resumes its cycle (meaning if healed right after it reaches a multiple of 3, you missed the damage tick).
  • Healing doesn't trigger Spell Penetration checks for friendly Undead (SLA version only).
  • This can be cast in addition to Lesser Death Aura and Death Aura, getting healing ticks from all 3.
  • Tip: The Extend Metamagic makes this spell much more spell cost friendly.
