Description

Blasts a target with a lance of freezing energy, dealing 4d5+20 cold damage on impact. The number of lances increases to two at caster level 7, then to to a maximum of three at caster level 11.

A successful Fortitude save reduces the damage by half. Each lance requires it's own individual save.

As a ray, this spell has double range.

This is a projectile attack. You might not hit your intended target if it is moving too fast, or moves behind a wall or another object. If another hostile creature is in the way, the spell will hit that creature instead. If one lance kills a creature, the next two can pass through it and hit another.

Since this spell increases its shot count instead of raw damage at higher levels, it does not fare well against enemies with a strong Cold Resistance which drops the damage of every hit.
