Focus Orb

From DDO wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Focus Orb is an element within the main game screen that shows the current target. A "target" can be an NPC, item, interactive element of the environment, party member, or Hireling, or even yourself - the term "target" doesn't mean you will (or even can!) attack it, just that you're interested in examining or interacting with it. You target something by left-clicking on it with your mouse pointer, or you can cycle through attackable targets by using Tab and other targets by using Q.

The buttons on the Focus Orb will change depending what possible actions you can take with that target. Once you have something targeted, in many cases you can inspect it by pressing Z or clicking the gear icon on the orb itself. (Bug: The gear icon is currently broken for many monsters.)

The location of the Focus Orb (and most elements of the main screen) can be re-arranged and customized.

Especially for items the game uses a set of generic appearances for the Focus Orb. Only special items get the honor to have a unique appearance.

Note for editors[edit]

Before uploading a new Focus Orb image always check the library if the image already exists. Tips for the preparation of orb images can be found here: Help:Images
