Farrier Worley
Name: Farrier Worley
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Locations:
Description: He is imprisoned inside a trapped cage, and if you fail to solve the puzzle, you may end up killing him and failing the quest. You can either solve the puzzle and award a huge optional XP bonus (and two chests), or you can kill Captain Howell Goldhorn or Major Mal for the cage key.
Ghost of a Chance[edit]
As soon as you approach his cage, he will scream (via DM voice):
- Farrier Worley: Do NOT touch anything! One wrong move could kill me, please speak with me first.
And then if you talk to him in the cage, he will give you some information:
- Farrier Worley: Oh, please tell me you're here to rescue me?
- You: Yes, your brother asked me to come free you.
- Farrier Worley: Marteen sent you?! But, I... Farrier sighs. I killed him when I was trying to rescue him from this horrible contraption.
- You: He told me all about it. We just need to get you out of here, quickly.
- Farrier Worley: Right, please listen then, this is very important. This contraption is very involved. In each corner there is one correct power circle and three incorrect ones. If you hit an incorrect circle, it will activate a trap that triggers in this cell. Too many incorrect choices and I will be toast. Please be careful...
- You: I will be as careful as can be.
- You: This looks too complicated for me. Is there any other way?
- Farrier Worley: Well, I am sure you will find a key in Captain Goldhorn's quarters. That option puts your life at risk, however.
- You: Either way, I will make sure you are freed.
- Farrier Worley: Well, I am sure you will find a key in Captain Goldhorn's quarters. That option puts your life at risk, however.
Once you free him from the cage (by either method), he will thank you:
- Farrier Worley: The way you disabled that device was brilliant! I cannot thank you enough for freeing me.
- You: You're welcome.
