Receives Quest(s): Tutorial: How to advance your character

If you are a Druid or Artificer, Cire will not bestow any of the Korthos tutorial quests.

Korthos Village[edit]

If you have not talked to your Class Trainer, you are a Druid or Artificer, or if there is no quest available in the Korthos tutorial quest series:

  • Cire Rotnug: Power in arms is the only way to get through this world. I can train you to become a better fighter.
    • You: Spend action points on enhancements.
      • Cire Rotnug: (if you have no Fighter levels) If I taught you some of my moves, would you live long enough to use them in a real fight? I think you better run along and seek out a more suitable teacher.
      • Cire Rotnug: (if you have at least one Fighter level) (open Enhancement Panel)
    • You: Advance to the next level as a fighter.
      • Cire Rotnug: (if you have no Fighter levels) Are you certain that you wish to multiclass into the fighter class? If you are currently on a path, you will leave it by doing so.
        • You: Yes, I still wish to train with you.
          • Cire Rotnug: (if you don't have enough XP to level up) You do not have enough experience to advance.
          • Cire Rotnug: (if you have enough XP to level up) (open Advancement UI)
        • You: No, you are right. I will choose another class. (ends conversation)
      • Cire Rotnug: (if you don't have enough XP to level up and have at least one Fighter level) You do not have enough experience to advance.
      • Cire Rotnug: (if you have enough XP to level up and have at least one Fighter level) (open Advancement UI)
    • You: Reset your enhancements.
      • Cire Rotnug: (if you have no Fighter levels) If I taught you some of my moves, would you live long enough to use them in a real fight? I think you better run along and seek out a more suitable teacher.
      • Cire Rotnug: (if you have at least one Fighter level) You can reset your enhancements in any public area by opening up your Enhancement Panel (Ctrl-R) and choose to Reset Tree or Reset All Trees.
    • You: Ask for Fighter advice.
      • Cire Rotnug: Fighters are masters of combat, expert in a wide variety of weapons and armor types. Skilled fighters can control the flow of battle by Intimidating their foes. What else do you want to know?
        • You: What sort of armor should a fighter wear?
          • Cire Rotnug: Fighters can use any kind of armor. For now, wear the armor that gives you the most protection - plate mail, if you can get it. If later in your career you develop extremely high Dexterity you may want to switch to lighter armors at that time. Consider using a shield, since a shield improves your Armor Class even if you don't use it to actively block.
            • You: What sort of weapons should a fighter use? (see below)
            • You: Tell me about the Intimidate ability. (see below)
            • You: Tell me about the Trip ability. (see below)
            • You: I would like to train now. (see "Fighters are masters of combat..." above)
        • You: What sort of weapons should a fighter use?
          • Cire Rotnug: Fighters can use any simple or martial weapon without penalty. You might try wielding a longsword with a shield in the other hand, or perhaps using a two-handed weapon like the great axe.
            • You: What sort of armor should a fighter wear? (see above)
            • You: Tell me about the Intimidate ability. (see below)
            • You: Tell me about the Trip ability. (see below)
            • You: I would like to train now. (see "Fighters are masters of combat..." above)
        • You: Tell me about the Intimidate ability.
          • Cire Rotnug: When a monster attacks one of your allies you can use your Intimidate ability on the monster to draw its attention to you instead. This is an excellent way to protect vulnerable sorcerers and wizards who have gotten in over their heads.
            • You: What sort of armor should a fighter wear? (see above)
            • You: What sort of weapons should a fighter use? (see above)
            • You: Tell me about the Trip ability. (see below)
            • You: I would like to train now. (see "Fighters are masters of combat..." above)
        • You: Tell me about the Trip ability.
          • Cire Rotnug: Use your Trip ability to send an enemy sprawling. If your Trip attempt succeeds then the creature is rendered prone, making it more vulnerable. Some enemies are immune to Trip attempts.
            • You: What sort of armor should a fighter wear? (see above)
            • You: What sort of weapons should a fighter use? (see above)
            • You: Tell me about the Intimidate ability. (see above)
            • You: I would like to train now. (see "Fighters are masters of combat..." above)

If you have talked to your class trainer, are not a Druid or Artificer, and have a quest available in the Korthos tutorial quest series:

  • Cire Rotnug: We cannot predict when the Devourer cult will strike. Be on guard.
    • You: I would like to use your services. (see "Fighters are masters of combat..." above)
