Skill check
A roll against an action's difficulty class, using a skill as a modifier.
Note: Unlike a saving throw a skill check will not automatically fail on a 1, nor automatically succeed on a roll of 20. There are a couple exceptions (or bugs perhaps) to this rule in ddo however, such as balance checks, which do function like saving throws.
