I am looking for proposals to what Category:Items should look like since I went through and Item:ized everything and dumped all of the templates into here as a starting point (not actually changing anything yet until everyone gets a chance to look it over). I would very much appreciate Yoko5000 (Contribs • Message), BlackSmith (Contribs • Message), and some of the other administrators ideas and take all of your ideas on that branch of our Cat tree structure into consideration. What I am looking for at this point is just an unordered list like (although this just scratches the surface as I don't have time before supper to come up with and research all of the parts of the tree):

  • Items
    • Items by ability change‎
      • Strength items
        • Strength +1 items
        • Strength +2 items
        • ...
      • Dexterity items
        • ...
      • ...
    • Items by adventure pack
      • Devil's Assault items
      • ...
    • Items by bind status
      • Bound to Character items
      • Bound to Account items
      • Bound on Acquire items
      • Bound on Equip items
      • Unbound items
    • Items by enchantment‎
      • ...
      • Seeker items
        • Seeker +2 items
        • Seeker +4 items
        • ...
    • ...

Add Sentient Consumable Items category[edit]

I would like to see a category of sentient consumable items. The category named item works for the most part, but not all "named" items are consumable. [DDO Forums] — previous unsignedPlease sign posts using ~~~~ comment by Bioguy.pingry ( c |d| r| b) at 17:28, March 3, 2018 (UTC)

Looks like you would want to expand the Non-food article for now. Maybe later we can create a new tiny template, for example {{Non-food}}. Then editors could place this template to all named items that cannot be fed to sentient jewel. Then an automatically generated list of all these items (category list) can be created. Proposed standard definition for Items categorization[edit]

I'm looking to clean up some of the inconsistency in the Items categorization pages. I'd like to propose the following verbiage to be added to the Items categorization page, and then work towards re-categorizing pages that fall outside of the proposed standard. If anyone has any concerns with this effort, please feel free to either add feedback here or reach out on discord.

  • The goal of the Items category is to provide a single point of categorization heirarchy for items that exist in the game.
  • Categories (subcategories) that exist under this category should correspond to the item categorization defined by the in game Auction House. If an Auction House category can not be identified, item should be categorized as part of the "Unclassified" item subcategory. As groups of unclassified items are identified, new item subcategories will be created and the heirarchy will be modified.
  • All pages that exist with this categorization should exist in the Item namespace.

  • Note that any categorisation is bound to this or that item page template. So your project will include a huge effort analyzing teplates. Please don't get the idea to add category tags directly in item pages. Appart from the fact that this cannot be kept consistent over time, it doesn't work with DPL Corgrind (ContribsMessage) 03:35, September 4, 2022 (EDT)
