Known Traps
- Two Control Panels open the sealed brig (prison) doors.
Tips and Misc
The Isle of Dread
- You awaken on the shores of the Isle of Dread, next to Foxpaw the Younger, a locked chest and the Conch of Secrets. Foxpaw has taken a blow to the head, and isn't quite clear on how the two of you ended up here. You start to tell him the story, which, naturally, cuts into a flashback...
The Harbor
- Your story begins in the familiar territory of the Northshore Wharves (at least, assuming you've done Dread Sea Scrolls, which you really ought to, or none of what's about to happen is going to make any sense.)
- Foxpaw is waiting for you in the central square. Before getting to him, however, you'll need to have a stern word with the Mysterious Stranger, who has decided to pay you a visit and deliver some not-at-all-ominous predictions.
- If you're doing the notes optional, before speaking to Foxpaw, go to the door of his laboratory and read the one there. The end of this fight quickly segues into a cutscene and a point of no return.
- Foxpaw has come up with a madcap scheme to bring the pirates back in an attempt to draw out their leader. This goes predictably wrong, and you end up facing off with Bagrann the Pirate and her goons.
- The end of this fight happens about 15 seconds after Bagrann goes down, so you can ignore the trash if you so want.
- After this happens, the Mysterious Stranger reappears, revealing himself to be none other than notorious archlich and minor god Vecna the Whispered One. Immediately following this revelation, you are caught by a powerful charm effect that prevents you from attacking or taking any other action, and get dragged onto a boat by the pirates.
Captured!
- You wake up in the brig of a boat, next to Foxpaw. Luckily, the pirates have been considerate enough to leave the controls to open the cell door inside the cell, and Foxpaw is easily able to spring you out. A second control panel here (which Foxpaw will not disarm) opens the second adjacent room to a shrine.
- Your next objective is to reach the deck, from the kitchen on the south-east upper floor. You'll need to grab a Silver Key from the table on the upper floor at the north end. There are a couple of optionals on the way:
- The table also has two other keys to get to optional locked rooms, and a note on the table.
- The door on the lower floor at the south is locked; it can be picked or unlocked with an Iron Key. Behind it is Bagrann the Pirate (again) and the Conch of Secrets. Killing Bagrann nets you some optional XP; you'll also need to do it to get her Monster Manual entry.
- The other door on the lower floor needs the Gold Key to enter. It leads to the same Shrine by your cell if you aren't able to open it while you were inside.
- The other note in this part is next to a Hidden Hand cultist sitting on the upper floor.
- After doing whichever optionals you want, fight the undead cook and head up to the stairs. Note this is another point of no return.
Seizing the Ship
- Head up to the main deck and fight several waves of Dread Pirates. Note the Aquamancers and Captain like using stunning spells and forcing you to dance in place, so some way of resisting those effects is probably a good call.
- The fourth note is on the giant red beacon. Note a third and final point of no return happens shortly after the boat is seized.
The Isle of Dread
- At this point, Vecna shows up again, sics a giant Water Weird on the boat and calls it a night. You cannot fight the weird, so the ship is wrecked shortly afterwards.
- You appear on the Isle of Dread, a short swim from the beach. Here, you can end the quest by talking to Foxpaw. You can then recall, which returns you to the Harbor, or head out of the bay to explore the Isle of Dread.
- Don't forget the last note! It's by a skeleton just outside the quest exit.
Bonus XP
- Aggression bonus: 66 or more monsters killed +10% Bonus.( ♣114 ♦202 ♥214 ♠226 )
- Notes: Slayer count available only on Reaper

- Collectables: 3
- Fungus near east blocked passage
- On the ship (Crude Altar, Reagents Cabinet or Rubble)
