Alignment damage (spells)
Damage-dealing spells with an alignment descriptor (Chaotic, Evil, Good, Lawful) inflict alignment-based damage. They are affected by the same modifiers that affect light-based damage, i.e., Radiance spell power and Radiance lore.
In general, alignment damage affects all targets equally; however, specific spell descriptions may indicate otherwise. For example, as indicated in the description of Holy Smite (Good), the spell has no effect on Good targets, and Neutral targets take half damage; whereas Deific Vengeance (Good) affects all alignment types equally. Likewise, some alignment-based spells have restrictions on which alignment casters can cast them, also listed in the spell description.
