Korthos Village[edit]

Before talking to your Class Trainer OR after asking Brother Malden to bind your spirit, talking to your Class Trainer, viewing Dax Boon's inventory, and completing The Collaborator OR if you are a Druid or Artificer:

  • Valenie Tscherie: Master Ji'an teaches us that enlightenment cannot be achieved while those next to us suffer. That is why we are here.
    • You: Spend action points on enhancements.
      • Valenie Tscherie: (if you have no Monk levels) You are full of your own opinions are speculations. How can I show you anything unless you first empty your cup?
      • Valenie Tscherie: (if you have at least one Monk level) (open Enhancement Panel)
    • You: Advance to the next level as a monk.
      • Valenie Tscherie: (if you have no Monk levels) Are you certain that you wish to multiclass into the monk class? If you are currently on a path, you will leave it by doing so.
        • You: Yes, I still wish to train with you.
          • Valenie Tscherie: (if you don't have enough XP to level up) You do not have enough experience to advance.
          • Valenie Tscherie: (if you have enough XP to level up) (open Advancement UI)
        • You: No, you are right. I will choose another class. (ends conversation)
      • Valenie Tscherie: (if you don't have enough XP to level up and have at least one Monk level) You do not have enough experience to advance.
      • Valenie Tscherie: (if you have enough XP to level up and have at least one Monk level) (open Advancement UI)
    • You: Reset your enhancements.
      • Valenie Tscherie: (if you have no Monk levels) You are full of your own opinions are speculations. How can I show you anything unless you first empty your cup?
      • Valenie Tscherie: (if you have at least one Monk level) You can reset your enhancements in any public area by opening up your Enhancement Panel (Ctrl-R) and choose to Reset Tree or Reset All Trees.
    • You: Ask for Monk advice.
      • Valenie Tscherie: A monk follows the path of wisdom in combat as in all of life. Monks need no armor, relying instead of their Ki and their fists.
        • You: What kind of armor should a monk wear?
          • Valenie Tscherie: Wearing armor disrupts a monk's Ki, so monks wear only robes or outfits. This has the added benefit of allowing monks to use their full Dexterity bonus when they attack.
            • You: What kind of weapons should a monk use? (see below)
            • You: Tell me about a monk's Ki. (see below)
            • You: How should monks keep their Ki from falling? (see below)
            • You: I would like to train now. (see "Master Ji'an teaches us..." above)
        • You: What sort of weapons should a monk use?
        • You: Tell me about a monk's Ki.
          • Valenie Tscherie: Ki is a subtle energy monks use to perform amazing feats. Your current Ki level is shown as a yellow bar beneath your red health bar. You build up Ki energy by attacking enemies or by resting at a rest shrine. Some of your special attacks consume Ki energy, such as your Stunning Fist ability.
            • You: What sort of armor should a monk wear? (see above)
            • You: What sort of weapons should a monk use? (see above)
            • You: How should monks keep their Ki from falling? (see below)
            • You: I would like to train now. (see "Master Ji'an teaches us..." above)
        • You: How should monks keep their Ki from falling?
          • Valenie Tscherie: New monks have a difficult time maintaining Ki. Your Concentration skill helps prevent your Ki from falling. Develop your Concentration skill and equip items that give bonuses to your Concentration skill. Soon you will be able to build up impressive amounts of Ki.
            • You: What sort of armor should a monk wear? (see above)
            • You: What sort of weapons should a monk use? (see above)
            • You: Tell me about a monk's Ki. (see above)
            • You: I would like to train now. (see "Master Ji'an teaches us..." above)

If you have talked to your class traner, are not a Druid or Artificer, and have a quest available in the Korthos tutorial quest series:

  • Valenie Tscherie: We cannot predict when the Devourer cult will strike. Be on guard.
    • You: I would like to use your services. (see "Master Ji'an teaches us..." above)
