Server[edit]

To answer your question, "everything" is fine with it now. The backup was less than a day old. We might have loss a few edits but, if so, the loss is minimal. --Borror0 21:03, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

Much oblidged Yoko ^_^[edit]

Ty for going over the parts I added or modified (both now and in the past) and adding an extra layer of polish.

br clear all[edit]

LOL, yeah I remember you doing that a few weeks ago, and I was sitting here trying to remember what the exact syntax was and read the mediawiki help files and couldn't find it. So just gave up in the end and did what I did. I'll add a note to my own page about it so I don't do it in future. Thanks Yoko0500 :-) UltraMonk 00:45, July 6, 2010 (EDT)

Hi[edit]

I noticed a message on my page and it brought me here so I suppose this comment is for me. I didn't realize that the Summary section was on the current edit; sorry about that. When I was editing a page the Summary section was already filled out, so I thought it was a summary of the page rather than the edit. I'll be sure to use it in the future. Almost all of my "minor" edits are grammar, spelling, or formatting/linking stuff.

Also, I'll fix the incorrectly cased articles.

Thanks for setting me straight! =] Sindarin8 01:58, May 4, 2010 (EDT)

Hi Yoko[edit]

Yesterday late at night, before I really realized it is a user page I edit I modified your section 'U5 named items' about the point 'Bound on Acquire'. I should probably have put it here in this discussion page first but I now keep it there and beg for pardon but want to let you know that:

  • It seems there are both versions of the Items existing in the new Phiarlan quests. Bound to Character and Bound to Account.
  • In the rare case someone pull it from a chest in one of the quests it is Bound to Account. In case it is from the List it is Bound to Character.
  • The pictures available in the forum only show 'Bound on Acquire' as are they take directly from the presented list and will just say that they bind in some way. In case one make a final pick a popup box will clarify that this item will bind. In case of the end reward it will detail that it can't be transfered to another character alas is 'Bound to Character'. I ran this Quest several times now and try to collect screenshots of both versions. This way I have e.g. a screenshot of Grim's Bracelet.

regards SisAmethyst 06:23, July 18, 2010 (EDT)

you rule, thx for the info. yea, was wanting to clarify which item drops from where, whats bind status of the items and so on in readards to update 5 items. but i havent run those quests much. prolly its clarified on the forum loot threads by now though, ill check that later... oh, and maybe can you answer this question as well? --yoko5000 23:54, July 18, 2010 (EDT)

About Spoilers[edit]

Just asking because i got some doubt if I should edit the main page of a quest to provide a link to some puzzles solved, for the people who get impatient at solving the more challenging quests. Being more specific, I screenshoted the Dream Conspiracy final optional puzzle, and uploaded the images of the solution. Any help on this mater will be great.

I was thinking in something like:

  • There are two optional chests at the end as well. To get to the chests, go around and under the staircase just before the boss, where you will find a floor tile puzzle. If you solve the puzzle (here and here) and light the gem as well as the top and bottom circle things(...)

--Nibelung 23:55, August 3, 2010 (EDT)

adding puzzle solution images to quest page is perfectly fine. in fact the Crucible, the Pit, Ghost of a Chance, there are bunch of them. just be sure that they are stored under the {{spoiler}} warning. use [[Image:]] tag rather than [direct link]. --yoko5000 02:03, August 4, 2010 (EDT)

File Deletions[edit]

Hi Yoko... I understand you are one of the people I need to talk to about getting certain files deleted. Well I got 7 files that I've uploaded way back when I first contributed but no longer linked to it or use.

If you are one of the people who can delete them...Great! I see no need for them and I'm sure it's now concidered a waste of HD space.

--Delphis

done :) --yoko5000 07:20, September 22, 2010 (EDT)

Big Thanks![edit]

I just wanted to say thanks for all the time and effort you put into this site!! (And an extra thanks for catching the typo's I accidentally added) :) Taurolyon 02:09, October 10, 2010 (EDT)

Feats[edit]

Heya Yoko, as you can see at the following page: User:UltraMonk/Feats. I have redone the brief layout for the majority of feats, however the reason why I so far have not added them into the proper feats page is that while the presentation of the feats look good, the way the current structure/categorization is done doesn't seem to suit it anymore. The main thing I think that needs to be done is have a main overview feats page and then spin off the various feat categories/structure from that page. The problem I have been experiencing is trying to come up with a suitable structure for it all to allow it to be easily accessible. My hope is also that where appropiate the feat pages can be included into other pages where it may be needed (eg Metamagic Feats in the Sorceror and Wizard pages). Have you any thoughts about this? UltraMonk 09:33, October 20, 2010 (EDT)

hmm, well ok. hmm... lol --yoko5000 09:51, October 20, 2010 (EDT)
Yes well that's true, lol. Nevermind, I'll go back to sleep. :-) UltraMonk 09:59, October 20, 2010 (EDT)

Locate Object[edit]

Noticed that you deleted Yawgmouth's contribution saying it was irrevelent to DDO. Locate Object is an ability from the Half-Orc Least Dragonmark and Locate Treasure is their Greater Dragonmark ability. UltraMonk 01:43, November 8, 2010 (EST)

i dont have access to view/restore the deleted edits somehow. restored from my RSS feed. --yoko5000 04:05, November 8, 2010 (EST)

Update 8[edit]

Heya Yoko, I already added the basic stuff from the four new Quests to the upcoming Update 8. I used the links from the User Talk side of UltraMonk. However I moved the 'Operation: Undermine' Quest to a location with a ':' as all other quests and the Quest Jornal show it with the ':', so I suspect this to be one of the many typos in DDO. I will update all the other additional infos (like chests, loot, monsters) in teh following days depending how far I come with it.

Anyhow I would like to add as well some maps and other stuffs but I am not allowed to upload anything. Probably because I a still a new user without privileges? So whom to contact for uploading maps or images of items? --SisAmethyst 19:58, November 13, 2010 (EST)

there are technically two ways to upload images on this wiki. not sure if you tried but the way of my recommendation is to follow the "upload file" link on the toolbox side bar, and then to create account on the http://img.enterwiki.net (and yes thats going to be separate account from one on the ddowiki.com) --yoko5000 21:16, November 13, 2010 (EST)
Ahh thanks, ok, I missed that point with the second account on enterwiki, because I already got the file upload dialog, but an error message regarding the rights ;) --SisAmethyst 22:09, November 13, 2010 (EST)

Thanks for your update[edit]

I am however too jaded to start an edit war with someone who is frightened of change -- the site is a myriad of fragment concepts, loose ends and poor phraseology. All the best in fixing that. Reprah 07:58, December 3, 2010 (EST)

I'd like to point out that since DDO went F2P back in September 2009 the DDO Wiki gained several new people wishing to contribute to it. They have made many improvements to the DDO Wiki in this time, and it continues to improve. There was and still is a lot of work to be done, and some of us do have real life jobs, real life families and also like to play DDO.
Now with DDO updates occurring about once every 2 months, there is a wealth of information that needs to be added when these updates do come out. I suggest you look at the list of contributions that individual editors have done before making such a judgement call. UltraMonk 09:45, December 3, 2010 (EST)

Uploading images[edit]

Server seems to be acting a bit weird with uploading files:

Neouni 08:37, December 6, 2010 (EST)

ah ya. a long story. this website was (and technically still is) a part of, um, some sort of gaming wiki network project, and still uses http://img.enterwiki.net for image hosting. thats why you see "This file is from a shared repository and may be used by other projects. etc" message on almost every single image description page. Special:WantedFiles is bugged, um, i guess we ignore it for now... to upload your image, please follow the "upload file" link on the toolbox side bar, and create your account on the http://img.enterwiki.net. and yes, that is going to be separate account from one on the ddowiki.com. --yoko5000 23:29, December 6, 2010 (EST)

Real Life Issues[edit]

I'm going through some issues at the moment and I have no idea on how much I am able to contribute to the wiki for a while. UltraMonk 21:12, December 29, 2010 (EST)

I hope it's nothing grave. Whatever it is, I hope it gets better soon. Since we're on the subject, I'll have limited access to a computer starting tomorrow until the second week of January so my contribution to the wiki for that week will be nil. --Borror0 03:30, December 30, 2010 (EST)
