Template: xxxxxx tooltip[edit]

Not sure if you are aware or not, but tooltip template's are not working right on the Vector layout of the site. All data in the tooltip just blobs out on the screen upon load. Look at the experience point page or the marketplace bazaar page that i've been working on Ague 19:25, April 3, 2012 (EDT)

The non-Trueglass skins were never modified to accommodate tool-tip pop-ups as far as I am aware of. I'm not ambitious enough to rework those skins right now. I'm expecting DDO wiki to be upgraded to MW 1.19 sometime this summer which is suppose to replace most of the current skins with the new standards. I just see no point in modifying any skins until after that point in time. I recommend using the Trueglass2 skin (wiki default) or the Trueglass skin (Mostly the same except the toolbox buffer stuffs are on the right instead of left which helps with preventing pop-ups from running off the screen and the one that I personally use). I also plan on at that point fixing the tool-tips to detect screen edges and display accordingly and creating a "mobile device friendly" skin for all of those iPhones, BlackBerries, and Androids... Big Grin ShoeMaker (ContributionsMessage) 20:28, April 3, 2012 (EDT)
Unless I am mistaken, Vector.css popups should be fixed now. ShoeMaker (ContributionsMessage) 15:23, April 5, 2012 (EDT)

Category pages - what should be on them?[edit]

If you compare Category:Rune Arms and Category:Weapon Modules, rune arms just have a short placeholder text that refers to the main article... that's the way things are at wikipedia {{OnWikipedia|Category:Mercian_monarchs].|Not that we necessarily need to do things their way... Then again, maybe the category page is a bit superfluous, if there are no named modules in the game yet... [[User:Carte|Carte}}] (ContributionsMessage) 20:17, April 5, 2012 (EDT)

If there is a main article, as with Weapon Module, you can simply include it on the Category page by calling it like {{:Weapon Module}}. ShoeMaker (ContributionsMessage) 08:05, April 6, 2012 (EDT)

Named Armor template update[edit]

Yo, another categorization error you may be able to fix:

Currently all Docents don't categorize right, or at all based on how the template is used.

EG: check my recent edit of:

My edit fixed the location to show up in the random loot cat, and put it in the "docent armor" cat.. But ideally we can set some special parameters to set docents where they belong - eg:

  • Category:Docents (This is currently being done manually on most docents)
Category:Minimum level x docents - This isnt a high priority, but atm the auto cat puts them into min level x armor, but a lot are also manually put into this area.

Possible fix? Set a #switch or #if statement for feat = Docent.. to strip "docent armor" to "docents". As for the template to be used correctly, all fields should be filled. Atm many pages are lacking that, but ive been fixing them, and just redirects the docent armor to docents atm, given "docents" has a lot more members (tho may be missign some). Not sure how to do that personally.→ Shade (ContributionsMessage) 14:37, April 15, 2012 (EDT)

If I understand your request, the edit I just made should take care of it.

I replaced "[[Category:{{{feat}}} armor]] " with "[[Category:{{#ifeq:{{lc:{{{race}}}}}|warforged|Docent|{{#ifeq:{{lc:{{{feat}}}}}|docent|Docent|{{{feat}}} armor}}}}]] "> ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 15:14, April 15, 2012 (EDT)

Thanks.. But doesn't look like it quite worked as intended.

It did take out the "docent armor" stuff. However..
We now have lots of stuff in the invalid category: Category:Docent .. Missing the s. → Shade (ContributionsMessage) 17:58, April 15, 2012 (EDT)

Patrolling[edit]

When I open a post requiring patrolling, in the past couple of days 9 out of 10 times it doesn't give me the option to mark the page as patrolled. So in turn, I make a minor edit (or large, if needed) and it still stays marked as not patrolled. wth? → Ague (ContributionsMessage) 13:53, April 18, 2012 (EDT)

Is the page you are trying to patrol marked with a (maybe green, maybe not) "N"? The ability to patrol new pages is bugged (Bugzilla 35810). If so, please vote it up in priority! If not, can you link the edit that is giving you troubles?
ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 14:16, April 18, 2012 (EDT)
The most recent edit that comes to mind was Kobold Island: The Disruptor After you made your changes, the red exclamation disappeared... I've patrolled several pages (not new ones) and have had no issues... I normally don't do anything with new pages. I do edits during the day from work when I can and from my phone. I don't do anything major until night...

Ague (ContributionsMessage) 15:36, April 18, 2012 (EDT)

Yeah because I hit [mark this page as patrolled]. I still think it is because most of them are new pages, of which you can patrol all except the initial creation/edit. Any more detail you can give me would be appreciated.
ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 16:52, April 18, 2012 (EDT)
the [Mark This Page as Patrolled] wasn't even an option. I looked the page over from top to bottom several times before editing it. Perhaps patrolling is bugged more-so than just patrolling new pages. Have any other people had issues like this?

Ague (ContributionsMessage) 21:00, April 18, 2012 (EDT)

OK, new instance of this occurring right now. the page Obsolete_quest_items is showing in the Special:RecentChanges as needing patrolled. I click on the page, and [Mark Page as Patrolled] is nowhere to be found. When I view history, nothing shows up about marking the page as patrolled.

Ague (ContributionsMessage) 21:05, April 18, 2012 (EDT)

Click the "Difference", or use Special:Patrol (no edits suitable right now). Also, the log for patrolled pages is [Here].

Yawgmoth (ContributionsMessage) 21:31, April 18, 2012 (EDT)

What I've never been able to figure out how to do is patrol a new page that's simply a redirect...

LrdSlvrhnd (ContributionsMessage) 22:43, April 18, 2012 (EDT) If you have noticed the inability to patrol new pages bug (35810), please vote for it on Bugzilla! This will cause the devs to take a look at it without having to wait 3-4 years for a fix!

ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 07:47, April 19, 2012 (EDT)
I've never noticed anything like this, except when it's a redirect - a new page without edits, I've just been able to to click on the page from "Recent Changes" and there's a "Patrol this page" thingie at the bottom, I'm pretty sure. Can't test it out right now to see if it's been changed. And if there *has* been an edit, I've always been able to click the "diff" for the edit, then go back to the previous version to edit it...

I know I joked about it on IRC, but I think adding 113.128.0.0/16 to the Special:Block is looking like a more and more reasonable idea, as they've modified your edits each day for the past week, twice prior on April 24th, per the log.

"Tauro" (Contributions Message) 03:11, May 7, 2012 (EDT)
yep, that makes.... Atleast 9 of em... And of course, the only thing harder then getting a Chinese ISP to block or do anything, is getting Tibet freed ^.^
Yawgmoth ( IRCMessage ) 05:07, May 7, 2012 (EDT)
Blocked for a week I think I set it to... Let's see what happens because I'm not sure if blocking on the wiki will work like that... *Crosses Fingers*
ShoeMaker (Contributions IRC) 09:39, May 7, 2012 (EDT)
This subnet's due to expire in a few days. I think if we get hit again, I'm thinking a much longer block term might be in order
"Tauro" (Contributions Message) 22:26, May 11, 2012 (EDT)
I'm thinking three months.

Am I going to have to put up a block on this range too? *Sigh*

ShoeMaker (Contributions IRC) 11:15, May 11, 2012 (EDT)
well.. we know how to do it, 59.151.0.0/16 will block that entire subnet. Doing some research to see if this is some bot or if it's someone behind this.

Redirect 'bug'[edit]

While I was updating the Greater Essence images, I noticed when I clicked the template's link greater magical essences in description, which is supposed to redirect to Cannith Crafting#Essences, however it only loads the full Cannith Crafting article and doesn't move to the specified subsection. Example: Greater Water Essence
Let me know what you find out. "Tauro" (Contributions Message) 12:14, May 5, 2012 (EDT)

I suspect you've been a bit too zealous in the recent anti-spam measures. The article Goristro - well, actually the two links there - while it did not really conform to wiki standards, it's not spam.--Cru121 (ContributionsMessage) 07:31, June 13, 2012 (EDT)

This is George Ho from English Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:George_Ho). I must say that this image.... it is no longer necessary and needed. This image is actually replaceable by text, as explanation of the rules is sufficient enough for this game. Actually, Cliff Hangers article was moved to the list some time ago, and the image loses its ability to help readers understand it anymore. Thanks for the welcome![edit]

I never know exactly how to message and edit on these talk pages, so please forgive me for my errors. Thanks for the welcome! I've been here for a little while. I'm not terribly wiki savvy. But, I'll come and needle from time to time when I'm looking for information that I can't find.

Like right now. I'm dying to remember what spell it is that those damned Qar Dat Warpriests cast that creates the big force cage looking animation in quests like The Shipwrecked Spy. I was pretty sure it's not a player castable spell. And, of course, I was here on the DDO wiki looking for it.

Anyway, cheers, and well met! :D --Cauthey (ContributionsMessage) 13:12, June 15, 2012 (EDT)

New messages usually go on the bottom of talk/discussion pages. Other than that, some people request that the {{Post|0|~~~~|MESSAGE}} be used on their talk pages (and will put your post into it if it is not). I could care less myself (although I do respond using it because it looks nicer)... Anyways, the spell you are looking for is a level 4 divine spell called Order's Wrath, and yes, PCs can use it.
