This fills the fields with the default. But yea that shouldn't be necessary. If we leave those fields blank, they should populate with defaults. How can we achieve that on the template?

I know how to list several options and use a #default .. But it seems when we do that, we have to list every single potential option, else it breaks.. Any way to give the editors freedom to put what they want, but have blank equals default? → Shade 16:42, November 16, 2011 (EST)

I just had a baby a month ago, so my wiki editing has been semi put on a back burner. I had started creating a new Template:Named Item, but I got distracted by the new daughter and haven't gotten to complete it. I'm hoping to be able to pick up and finish it at some point.. This new template would streamline named weapons, armor, jewelry, clothing, wands, etc... all into 1 easy to use template. Missing or blank fields will default. I totally understand your frustration about the complication to these templates...

Yea making a better template can work. But the problem with you making big changes like that means thousands of pages would need updated.. That's too much work, so you'd also have to make a bot that would do it automatically at least. → Shade 19:40, November 16, 2011 (EST)

I was going to have each of the existing templates redirect to the new template putting all of the correct arguments into place. I still have to play with how bots work and such, and may have Xevo grant me bot access to make that overhaul, or I may just do it manually. It's not as large of an undertaking as a person may think.. I've made other similar adjustments, that have required a few hundred items to be updated to new template. I don't mind.

I'm not quite sure how redirecting existing templates would work, but you could post a link to the new template on those pages with a "Please use this template instead" note when it's finished - no reason why the current ones can't stay as-is 'til they get changed, and if you get a few editors going through the "what links here" list on the old templates when they have some time to kill, that shouldn't be too difficult to deal with. I'm certainly willing to help out with that, just let me know when it's done...

Follow up to this line of though.. I've got the bot, and the bot access. I'll work on getting that template done in the next few weeks.. Reaver's Fate Loot changes[edit]

Changed Treason to 18-20 from 19-20 because it has been retroactively changed to the base threat range of a rapier instead of short sword. Tenderizer has indeed been changed as well. I do have screen shots but you aren't getting them. - Glenalth

Also, looking at the screen shots Treason also gets the better of Str or Dex for attack and damage now, so that's quite nice for some people. - Glenalth

Character Sheet Template[edit]

No problem.. I made a minor tweak right after so that it is your way by default unless |bio= exists.. Then it is the way I like it.. Pun included
