Hi, I'm brand new to DDO, was immediately referred to this wiki, which I'm very glad exists - thanks everyone! And hope to meet you all on the quests.

Welcome on behalf of all the Kobolds.... which are currently on vacation (stupid Kobold Union....) If you have any questions, feel free to ask any active DDO wiki VIP or Sysop on their talk page or try to find someone on our live IRC chat channel. Many questions are answered by reading the help sections linked above, and if you do visit the IRC chat channel, please be patient, someone will help you if you are, although it may take an hour sometimes to get someone. Ahh think I just found the way to do another post here, yaaay! Thanks for your comment, Yawgmoth. Any hints on how to locate a component vendor in Korthos? (need more fine dust for spells). And can I sell useless weapons from the treasure chests? They are clogging up my inventory! I tried to figure out how to delete them but no dice. Thanks so much for being willing to help a totally clueless newbie :) --Starhawk

Dax Boon, General Vendor, is selling lvl 1 spell components in Korthos. He's in the southern part of the village, near entrance to Korthos Island. As for weapons, you can sell most stuff to Dax Boon. Some items with the property "Starter" cannot be sold. You can destroy them by dragging them outside of your inventory. Also, I recommend you to use ddo forum for further questions, the wiki is imho not really suited for such stuff because of clumsy editing (compared to a forum at least). http://forums.ddo.com/forumdisplay.php?f=81 That said, you're certainly welcome to ask questions here as well. --Cru121 (ContributionsMessage) 14:38, September 6, 2012 (EDT)

Heart felt thanks[edit]

Thanks, Cru, to the forums I go!

Evidently F2Per's can't post questions on the community forums[edit]

I tried and got a message saying "your account is trying to do something you are not allowed to do". It said something about "free forums" but when I followed the link it took me to the identical forum and I got the identical error message. I had created my account and logged in and everything so that wasn't it. I'm reading the user guide and the wikis and the new player guides but the tiny question I have is nowhere answered that I can find. So, kind people, will continue to ask here until such time as I make the decision to pay for the game - which I will do when it has won my heart :)

My question today: How do I tell how many spell points I have on my character? I checked everywhere in the inventory and didn't see it anywhere. I'm a sorcerer. And do these get used up as I cast spells and then I have to get more? Or are they like health, which goes down in the quest but then regenerates in the tavern? I'm wondering because I keep dying in the quests when my spells stop casting (which I don't know why it is happening). I have the quest set at casual so that's not it.

Spell casters are often refered to as "blue bars" because there should be an orb with your character's name on it with a red bar for Hit Points and a blue bar for Spell Points (yellow bar if you buy the Monk class for Ki). I'm only a "premium player" (see Account comparisons) and have never tried to post to the forums. Useraverage (ContributionsMessage) 12:56, September 7, 2012 (EDT)

Thank you![edit]

Thanks kind Useraverage, you rock! I can hardly wait to get home and start watching that blue bar as I cast and see if that's what the problem is when the spells stop working :)

You're welcome. Please feel free to check out a very rough, just started, work in progress of mine : Useraverage/What I've Learned So Far And as one new user of the wiki to another, there is a drop down menu below the "Save page" button with "Post Template". Once selected, Click the Post button, type a number of the sequence (this is message 2, you would type 3) hit the next button for the default signature, type your message, then hit the last button. Viola! Instant wiki magic, you make a post like mine. Smile Useraverage (ContributionsMessage) 15:13, September 7, 2012 (EDT)
