[edit] Lore about "the Traveler"

The Traveler is one of the gods counted among a pantheon known as the Dark Six, though he's not known as a god of evil. A chaotic being that favors change, he is the patron god of travelers, and many adventurers and wanderers pray to him for safe journeys or blessings on their voyages. It is said that the Traveler is a being of many disguises, roaming the lands where and when you least suspect him. Known as the "Giver of Gifts," this god of creations and artifice can be as mischievous as he is mysterious, giving rise to the old adage "Beware the gifts of the Traveler".

Reward for 2012 were the same as 2011, mainly the rods of teleport were taken out and the egg placement was changed slightly.

  • Rare rewards:
    • 2 Medium xp elixir(BtA,+10% 6 hours duration)

  • Very rare:
    • 5 Greater Siberys Spirit Cakes (BTA, True Resurrection)
Major + Blessing:
  • Common reward (90% of the time):
    • 2 Medium xp elixir (BTA,+10% 6 hours duration)
  • Rare rewards:
    • Anvil of the Efreeti Forgemaster (BTA, expert repairer, lasts 3 minutes)
    • 5 Greater xp elixirs (BTA, +20% 3 hours duration)
Greater + Blessing:
  • Common reward (90% of the time):
    • 2 Potions of wonder (can be defensive or offensive, unbound)
  • Rare rewards:
    • Siberys Spirit Cake (BTA, Resurrection)
Blessing with no aura:
  • 1 Siberys Spirit Cake (BTA, Resurrection)
Blessing turn it after the event is over:
  • 1 Lesser Siberys Spirit Cake (BTA, Raise dead)

Note:

  • Hearts of Wood and Rods of Teleport do not seem to be on Taj's loot table this time (link).
  • The Ultimate Aura DDO Store reward is usually 2 Potions of Supreme Ability (Bind to Character, 10 minutes of +2 to all abilities), whereas the Major Aura reward is usually 2 Medium Experience Elixirs (Bind to Account, 6 hours of 10% XP boost), so it is currently much better to use your Blessing of the Traveler on Major Aura, not Ultimate Aura.
  • As you can see, for most players (those who desire XP) the major aura tends to offer the best blessing reward on average. For the normal (random loot) rewards, Ultimate Aura is better than Major Aura as each higher aura increase the loot level you get - it goes all the way up to loot level 23, thus has a small chance to reward +3 unbound tomes. The formula uses your character level + aura to determine rewards, so run it on a level20 and go for ultimate for the best random gear.
