something is wrong with this template. really is there Lesser and Improved Parrying? we have page for Parrying and Greater Parrying but im thinking about merging them into one also. --yoko5000 07:21, February 26, 2011 (EST)

Something's wrong

Some of the popup descriptions are wrong. I'm 100% sure about Parrying I, 50% sure about Parrying II, and I'm having some doubts about III, V, VI, VII, IX and above.

Here's a list of the Parrying n descriptions I currently have access to:

Parrying I: Passive: +1 Insight Bonus to Armor Class, +1 Insight Bonus to Fortitude, Reflex, and Will Saving Throws.

Parrying IV: Passive: +2 Insight Bonus to Armor Class, +2 Insight Bonus to Fortitude, Reflex, and Will Saving Throws.

Parrying VIII: Passive: +4 Insight Bonus to Armor Class, +4 Insight Bonus to Fortitude, Reflex, and Will Saving Throws.

I think I used to have others, but if I did I Cannith-deconstructed them and I'm not 100% sure about the values, so I can't put them here.

Some searching through auction, shard exchange and vendors, and some asking around, turned out nothing else than I, IV and VIII.

If you have other similar items, please copy my descriptions and add yours, so we'll have an up-to-date reference pattern for correcting the template.

I'm beginning to think developers only prepared the framework for a generalized Parrying n, but only decided to convert the previous-style Parrying, Greater Parrying and Superior Parrying to the current style. During a total of a couple of hours' worth of searching (see above) spread across three days (which is admittedly too little time to have statistical significance), I've only found Parrying I, IV and VIII items, named or otherwise.

Moreover, thanks to your pointer, I've located three instances of Master's Riposte in the shard exchange, and took snapshots a few minutes ago, just before the next patch. I'll check them again just after the patch, then I'll upload them if necessary. Anyway:

• Master's Riposte ML 26 has Riposte X, not Parrying X
• Master's Riposte ML 28 has Riposte XII, not Parrying XII (two different items agree)

Thanks for doing the research! I recall from the pre-U19 beta discussions that they decided to replace parrying with riposte on weapons. I am not sure if parrying is still dropping on random loot at all. Parrying and Greater Parrying used to be craftable, perhaps this would be worth checking out as well.

I've just checked the three instances of Master's Riposte in the shard exchange (see above) after Update 19 Patch 2, and they're identical. Searching for other parrying items.

Updated Parrying I. Anything other then Parrying I, IV, VIII will now display an error message. Most likely replace with Riposte on new random gen items and any U19 and future name items. Bladedge (Contributions • Message) 19:16, September 25, 2013 (EDT)

Need Update

• Check armor from U29 ("xxx of the Celestial xxx"). Now they have parrying: +7 to AC and Saves. (Just "{{Int|{{#expr:{{{1|0}}}*2}}}}" -> "{{Int|{{#expr:{{{1|0}}}}}}}", but need to check other item with this property.). UL (Contribs • Message • Email) 09:35, September 3, 2016 (EDT)
