If anyone could find me a picture for monks that matches with the ones we already have... I'd be very thankful. -Borror0 00:29, June 2, 2008 (EDT)

TOC width[edit]

I've already had to shrink the icons and text down a couple times to reduce horizontal scrolling... Just a heads up, when the next new class is introduced, I'll have to split this table into two rows. Figured I'd start a discussion about it now, rather than later when we want to get it up quickly... How do we want to split them? Alphabetically A-L on the top and M-Z on the bottom? By pay status? 100% F2P on top and earned/purchased on bottom? Some other way, give me your ideas or comment on one of mine. Thanks! ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 11:06, May 24, 2017 (EDT)

  • I am in favor of splitting them alphabetically. It is easier to have equally spaced rows in that way in my opinion. MrLizard (ContribsMessage) 00:07, October 22, 2020 (EDT)

Deploy TOC project[edit]

I would like deploy the following project here: User:MrLizard/Sandbox/TOC. Opinions? Suggestions? Criticisms? MrLizard (ContribsMessage) 23:59, October 21, 2020 (EDT)

  • Seems bulky, what benefit does it provide to the reader?  👟 ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 👟 08:06, October 22, 2020 (EDT)
    • The idea was to make the guides more accessible, and integrate them to the class interface. (Have in mind that the TOCs in User:MrLizard/Sandbox/TOC are intended to appear one at each time like tabs, depending on the page, not all the four together as shown in the sandbox). I just don't like the idea of relying only on the very small TOC that appear in the top right position of the classes pages, for the reader to realize that such guides exist. MrLizard (ContribsMessage) 09:04, October 22, 2020 (EDT)
      • I don't think those guides are currently useful because they are out of date. If I were to update them I would generalize the information so that it wouldn't depend so much on specific abilities or equipment. I don't think the TOC belongs with the classes. Perhaps we can replace the Newbie guide link in the wiki TOC to a page linking to all the guides. Faltout (ContribsMessage) 17:42, October 22, 2020 (EDT)
        • I am aware that the guides are very outdated (some of them still refer to prestige enhancements). My idea was that, by making those guides more visible, maybe more people feel encouraged to update them. About the TOC: should I try to design then a TOC/navbar for the newbie guide page instead (page which in my opinion is currently very reader-unfriendly)? What is your opinion? (If agreed, we can move this discussion to Talk:Newbie guide) MrLizard (ContribsMessage) 19:00, October 26, 2020 (EDT)
          • So my thinking is that a new player will start by looking at the home page. Links for guides are at the top navbar and in the "getting started" section. Since you can't link all the guides there, there should be a link to a guide page that talks about the different guides (which guides to start with and what each guide is about). You can have a TOC in that page to any kind of guide. This guide page would not include volatile information like the current Newbie Guide does (which packs to get and other stuff). It would include links to the wiki pages that actually get updated and contain the relevant information. Like User interface, DDO Store, Character guides like Character creation, class guides, Gameplay guides like Game mechanics, Guides to the wiki like lists of quests, items etc. Faltout (ContribsMessage) 21:37, October 26, 2020 (EDT)
