The New Tables[edit]

Heya Peerless,

Are ya still working on the new table format? It's looking very nice. But I have one little nit to pick.

In the previous version (with this header)

{| border="1px grey dotted" style="{{css:table/1}}" width=90%
| colspan="6" |'''Table: Some Table'''
|- style="{{css:table/1/header|grey}}"

the table would auto line break long entries into appropriate sized chunks and put the whole line into the table as a multiline entry. This prevents long lines from causing the page to have to scroll vertically (very ugly, heh).

With the new table you set up (with this header)

{| class="pyxe sortable" border=0
|- class="header"

that isn't the case, long lines just go on and on. You have to manually insert br codes, which is both a pain and not real workable for people with different screen resolutions than the one the author uses to create the table in the first place.

Any chance we could get the auto line breaks back in?

Otherwise I think it looks much better than the previous version. Are you planning on making all the tables use this new format? The sorting function is pretty cool!

grrr, this was meant to go in your Discussion box, Peerless, not sure why it ended up as a new page, sorry 'bout that. Delete it as needed.→ Ron 11:46, January 20, 2007 (EST)

Nah, I opted to move it here instead (-: The forums are the best place for discussions, in most cases. Anyway, I already realized that - for rows that start getting long, simply add the 'long' class to it. Something like...

|A cell that has some crazy long text wtflolhaha
| class="long" |A cell that has some crazy long text wtflolhaha

The second will auto-wrap to a user's display, while the first won't.→ Mr. Cable 13:20, January 20, 2007 (EST)

Cool, thanks, I'll add those markers into the armor tables. I'm still learning this complex Wiki editing thing.... :) Ron 14:39, January 20, 2007 (EST)

That's fine, although wikiML doesn't have much of a learning curve, my hacks on it unfortunately do. lol (-;→ Mr. Cable 17:34, January 20, 2007 (EST)
