Onslaught at 220 as of today. And conquest at 273. Can't find edit from myddo :)

Protection[edit]

Rather than protecting it, wouldn't it be simpler to add a note under the bonus XP template explaining the range? And this way people can still edit it for other stuff... LrdSlvrhnd 03:26, January 23, 2012 (EST)

  • I agree. I interpreted the range to mean that the exact value was unknown (much as how ranges on the trap DC page indicate that the exact value has not yet been determined). It would be useful for readers to know that the conquest threshold for this quest does have a random component. Agthorr 03:26, January 23, 2012 (EST)
  • Reviewing the revision history says that a note saying it is variable based on run settings doesn't seem to work.. The revision just before his edit was summarized by Shade (Contribs • Message) as, "(Undo revision 110554 by Agthorr (talk) Doesn't mean it won't take more for other runs, the figure is variable.)". Move than 50% of the edits to this page, have been due to this issue.. It's not that hard to just protect the page. I'll make a note on the top of the page as to why it is protected, but for now, I would rather leave it as such.. ShoeMaker 12:18, January 23, 2012 (EST)
    • Yes, because the first thing anybody does before editing a page is check the revision history... I know it's the first thing *I* do.

Oh, wait, it's not something I even CONTEMPLATE. A note explaining the range and variables is a far superior alternative to protecting a page that doesn't otherwise need protection. I know if *I'd* seen that range, I'd assume that whoever made it wasn't quite sure of the exact numbers (happens to me all the time, I miss a chance to look between a couple of kills/breakables, and the bonus has changed. All I know is it's somewhere between the last time I looked and the current number... if it's a long and difficult quest, I'm apt to just put the range rather than immediately trying again.)
