Rewrite[edit]
Thinking about a new newbie page (I've been playing 6 months and I can hardly remember what I did NOT know) for just general knowledge that people have that just gets assumed or other useful generic info that is hard to classify on another page. For example one that came to mind just now. "When someone says meet at the mailbox in the harbor, they mean the one at the top of the hill in the West, not the one by the warehouses in the South. Nobody uses that mailbox." But in general there appears to be no newbie guide for "useful stuff". it's all tied to decisions about character class choices. Rearranging the list of FAQs a bit ?[edit]
Personally, I think it's an good idea to push up the "New Players FAQ" a bit within the "DDOwiki newbie guides category" , because it covers most basic starter questions. However, I don't quite know how to do that. ⇒ Alrik (Contribs • Message • Email) 12:34, April 21, 2019 (EDT)
- I'd agree, but unfortunately, b/c it's generated automatically, it defaults to alphabetical. The upside is that any time a new guide is added, so long as it has the proper category added to the article, that link is automatically added to this list. <shrugs> Don't know if one of the gurus can co something to change that? ⇒ C-Hound (Contribs • Message • Email) 22:03, April 22, 2019 (EDT)
- I went to do that for you quickly and found that it's an Extension:NCL auto-generated list which prevents us from moving an individual item to a different place on the list. I'll note that we will likely be eliminating E:NCL with the next MediaWiki update and this list will have to be changed to be auto-generated by Extension:DPL or manually created. Looking at the purpose of this section, I'm wondering why this isn't a footer page navbox style thing in the first place. Thoughts?
